This book is the BEST fantasy novel, EVER. I mean, all the other fantasy novels actually contain words and stories and they actually...exist, whereas this book is itself a fantasy. Top that, G.R.R. Martin. I mean, c'mon, a book that is itself a fantasy. That is the kind of novel I would like to write and sell for millions. Here is an book so original that its emulation is inevitable. Bravo Mr. Sanderson. Or are you a fantasy as well?

Much like other reviewers, I found that this book encompassed everything there is in the human experience, as well as inanimate objects (no one writes about digital telephone systems and jam jars quite like Sanderson) and truly seems like it was effortless in its masterful creation.

However, I must subtract one star for one reason only: despite what the cover art might lead you to believe, Elvis is only in the book for about 1/3 of the narrative, and then leaves the rest of the heroes in order to fight a light-saber-wielding zombie Mussolini on another planet. I, for one, was expecting much more Elvis in the book, and the cover art should at least have showed him in his full battle plate with halberd.

I love the horses in this book! They're beautiful and ideal and talk about their feelings. And then they explode! It doesn't get any better than this. And then there was some side story involving gems as a source of magic, a man returning from the dead to warn of impending disaster, and princesses with gowns that have one really long sleeve. I hope Brandon Sanderson gives us many more books of this quality.
