Pre-Thievery Corporation goodness,
By C. G. "seagrass" (Atlanta, GA) - See all my reviews

Before Thievery Corporation, even before Washington D.C.'s 18th St. Lounge, there existed the Exodus Quartet. Don't expect the same dubbed-out T.C. exotica here; Exodus has a style all its own. You CAN hear some of what would eventually evolve into the Thievery Corporation sound (similar samples and Latin rhythms), but for the most part it is easy to differentiate between the two groups. "Way Out There" is similar in sound to the James Taylor Quartet, with more of an emphasis on Latin and bossa grooves than 70's-style funk. Great stuff for Thievery Corp. completists; however, Exodus Quartet's style transcends even its founders' now-legendary credentials.

a perfect 10!,

This CD is incredable. I was very impressed with the smooth sounds of Exodus Quartet. The sound RED is breath taking. It really get's the mood going if there is to be one. Of all of he groups out there, Exodus Quartet can swing with the best of them. They have a Flavor that will carry on for years to come.

Acid-jaz at it's finest,
By Kurt Hanson (Worcester, Ma. United States) - See all my reviews

This is an unbelievable album. Great grooves from beginning to end. The keyboards and the sax are jumping. You can not sit still listening to this release. "Groove Gumbo" is a party favorite. Do they have more albums? If so let me know!
