5.0 out of 5 stars Great country CD reminiscent of the best of Britt, Robbins,, January 9, 1999

Really loved this CD from the first notes of the first cut. Wylie sounds like a combination of Elton Britt, Marty Robbins, Merle Haggard, and all of the country greats that were such a big part of making country music as popular as it is. Quite a bit of today's country music has little to even connect it with country music as many of us know it. Wylie does the yodelling flawlessly, he has an extremely versatile voice on the ballads, and is great on the honky-tonk. His group, The

Wild West, also is very good. Always just the right amount of accoustic, steel, keyboard, or whatever. The first track, "Hello, Heartache", holds onto you from the opening notes and you realize what a powerful voice this can be. His "Sidewalks of L.A." makes you stop and listen and feel the words. You can't help but listen! I would rather have this one CD by Wylie than six by some of today's "popular" singers, male or female. I like a lot of today's country singers, but there are none that I like any better than Wylie Gustaf- son. The songs he writes are soulful and from the heart, and he sings them beautifully. And he is the perfect compliment to the songs of other writers.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Kept Secret in Country Music!, January 18, 1999

The minute the CD started to play and I heard Wylie's rich full voice on Hello Heartache I knew this was going to be the best music I have heard in years! Wylie brings back the romance of the old west with a vocal range that goes from deep and warm to the highest yodel with ease. I have shared this CD as well as his new release, Total Yodel, with all my friends and everyone, including my daughter's 22 year old city slicker boyfriend, has been delighted by his incredible talents. I predict that some day this band will be a household word!

My boyfriend took me to see Wylie live at the Tractor Tavern in Seattle. What a great show!! I love this CD. If you like the older style country music...you will love this album!

I enjoy some C&W music. I do particularly like Wylie Gustafson's style and lyrics. He is original and, I believe, one of a kind. To me his music, style and lyrics are "pure" and authentic.
