Ashanti nailed it this time!!
I don't know about the whole album, for I've only heard snippets twice or so, but this song is bangin'! And everything looks good on the cover except the wild, feline-hairdo! lol This track is a mid-tempo about Ashanti waking up and having a funny feeling that her man is cheating, in which he was. 4.25 stars. end note: yes it's a breakup...

The Way We Don't Love
The past few years have really been about the wannabe divas in R&B from Fantasia Burrino from American Idol all the way to Rihanna, and many others. That also has been placed under the category for Ashanti. While she has tried to show promise, the singer from Glen Cove just doesn't appeal to make the mark on credible songs and heart. The past few years have really been about the wannabe divas in R&B from Fantasia Burrino from American Idol all the way to Rihanna, and many others. That also has been placed under the category for Ashanti. While she has tried to show promise, the singer from Glen Cove just doesn't appeal to make the mark on credible songs and heart. That was sadly shown before with Only U from Concrete Rose and now again with The Way That I Love You. The song is her first single from her album The Declaration. Sadly though, the song is overdramatized and just doesn't have the feeling of heart and soul from what we've seen and heard from acts like Chrisette Michele and Alicia Keys. I wasn't actually impressed with the song, or its video which showed Ashanti plotting for revenge on a lover by killing his cheating new gal. The song just doesn't feel like it has heart and that is just a shame. If you really want to download a good song from Amazon instead, I really recommend Teenage Love Affair from Alicia Keys instead.
