5.0 out of 5 stars ONE OF THE BEST COUNTRY ALBUMS OF ALL TIME!
Quite simply, this is the best country album I have ever heard. It is a masterpiece, the achievement of a lifetime for a once in a lifetime artist. I've often thought, in the 8 years since I first heard it, is it really THAT good? Then I've listened again and yes, IT IS! Waylon wrote or co-wrote all but one of the songs here, with the lone exception being Tony Joe...

3.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable album
I heard one of the songs on this album, "Wild Ones," ages ago and I really liked it. Of course, it took me a while to track down who the singer was and what album it was on, but once I knew I bought it. As it turns out, the rest of the album is pretty good, too. I can't say any of them stick to me, if you will, the way "Wild Ones" has, but it's still a good album.

Quite simply, this is the best country album I have ever heard. It is a masterpiece, the achievement of a lifetime for a once in a lifetime artist. I've often thought, in the 8 years since I first heard it, is it really THAT good? Then I've listened again and yes, IT IS! Waylon wrote or co-wrote all but one of the songs here, with the lone exception being Tony Joe White's wonderfully evocative "Up in Arkansas." There are so many great songs on this album that there is not room to mention them all, but I have to say a special word about one. "Old Timer (The Song)" may be the most wonderfully written (and sung) story song in country music history. It is a story about an old cowboy and the girl he loved and lost, and also about the unique, independent life he has lived. It never gets old. Heck, none of these songs do. If you haven't heard much or any of Waylon's 1990s stuff, do yourself a favor and listen to it. Get "Right for the Time", "Closing in on the Fire" and "Too Dumb for New York City". But, most of all, get "Waymore's Blues (Part II)". You owe it to yourself to listen to the master at his absolute best. Again, this is a masterpiece. Real country music, and real ART. 'Nuff said.

5.0 out of 5 stars Yes, in deed ......, April 23, 2006
This review is from: Waymore's Blues Pt 2 (Audio CD)
This is the best that country music has to offer, bar none. I've owned a tape of Waymore's Blues Part II for seveal years. It is as great today as it was when it first hit the market. It will remain so. You will be hard pressed to find any better. IMHO! These songs are so good it's almost scary. Too bad the radio stations didn't pick up on it as they should have. Maybe this Waylon Jennings was just too good for the air waves. Many people missed out on excellance.

Waymore's Blues takes you with it. It talks to you. It tells your story. It breaks your heart, lifts your spirits and moves your feet, body and soul.

Buy it. Now! Or you'll never know.

The Don Was produced Waymore's Blues (Part II) is easily the best Waylon album of recent years (although 1998's "Closing In on the Fire" was excellent and even "Right for the Time" was better than anything on country radio today). Among the outstanding tracks are "This Train (Russell's Song)", "Wild Ones", "Old Timer", "Nobody Knows (I'm Elvis)"--a pure rock and roll song if you'll ever hear one, and "Come Back and See Me". The final track "You Don't Mess Around With Me" was part of the soundtrack to the movie "Maverick".

5.0 out of 5 stars Great! Classic Waylon returns on this mellow CD., September 9, 1998

This is more like it! Waylon's old sound comes through and lifts the spirit in Up in Arkansas, and he shows excitement and boastfulness with "Nobody Knows I'm Elvis". If you've been missing the real Waylon, this is the CD to buy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Lost CD of Atlantis, February 9, 2012
This review is from: Waymore's Blues Pt 2 (Audio CD)
Im a huge Waylon Fan, have been since Dukes of Hazzard reruns as a young boy. What I find alarming is the fact that this Album has almost disappeared, and the ones that are available are quite pricey....I ordered a used copy from a reputable dealer on Amazon that is using all proceeds to fund a library, so Im just gonna add it into my itunes, and lock the cd away for safe keepings. The Wild Ones alone is worth the purchase price, but from the very beginning, its like hes leaving it all on the table....he truly was a beacon for artists, like Cash, Haggard, Coe, Willie, and Jr. Long live Waylon, get whiskey bent and listen for maximum experience.

I have been trying to buy this album for years having lost it sometime ago.

Despite the cost, I regard it as up with Grievous Angel as an absolutely essential country album, the best Waylon album I have heard and there are many good ones - truly a great album

5.0 out of 5 stars Waylon's Best Work, December 27, 2010

This review is from: Waymore's Blues Pt 2 (Audio CD)
I have been an unwavering fan of country music since the late '40s and of Waylon Jennings since the mid-70's, when he rescued Willie Nelson from obscurity. I have purchased many of Waylon's albums and CDs, never finding one that I regretted buying. Of course, if you are one of his fans, you would never feel that he ever put out a bad album although, as with any other artist, you can find a number or two on any album that they could have left off, and that might be true even on this one. Maybe. But,the good stuff on this CD so far exceeds the best of any other artist's work that it can't even be described in words. Clearly, Waylon's best work and perhaps the best country and/or rock album ever recorded. No intent to rank the tracks individually, but I challenge you to find a piece of music to compare to "Come Back and See Me"

5.0 out of 5 stars Get this CD if you enjoy music!, December 14, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Waymore's Blues Pt 2 (Audio CD)
One of the Best Cd's I have every heard and enjoyed. Bought it for one song; Wild Ones but the rest turned out to be quite entertaining as well. Loved the first one as it laid the foundation for the rest of the Album. It is gritty, with brilliant instrumental backing plus keyboard use and bass which reinforce many of the songs. Of particular is the song 'Nobody knows' which really rocks and has a great rhythmic pattern. Its a shame he has passed on and I wish he was here to do more like this one. Do your self a favor and buy it you won't regret it.
