5.0 out of 5 stars Winnnner
Bought this pump two months ago when my other Wayne (older) gave out. We have had alot of rain here in the Adirondacks (record) and the basement always floods. I run two pumps to keep the water under control. This new Wayne pump has been going nonstop for more than 60 days and it's doning the job. No problems, just set it and forget it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Switch Genius not so smart, September 1, 2011
This review is from: Wayne CDUCAP995 3/4 Horsepower Stainless Steel and Cast Iron Switch Genius Technology Sump Pump (Tools & Home Improvement)
When a sump pump goes bellyup it usually happens when you need it most. Which means you can't wait for shipping or shop price, you head to the hardware store and pay top buck. After numerous Wayne pump float switches died (usually just after the warranty expires)I saw this one with the Switch Genius technology. At 3/4 HP it was more pump than I needed and it was the most expensive sump pump I ever bought. But I figured if the switch was more reliable than float switches the piece of mind would be worth the money.

I noticed the switch cycles the pump on early and shuts off only after sucking air for 10 - 15 seconds. After some severe storms a few weeks later I came home from work and could smell something hot. The pump wasn't turning off and was hotter than blazes! After following the manual and cleaning off the sensor it still wouldn't shut off. After unplugging the pump for half an hour or so it appeared to work normally again. Every time there's a storm I have trouble with the water sensor not shutting off the pump. Wayne says to send it back for a replacement on my dime. It weighs a ton and is going to be expensive to ship. Plus, what do I do for a pump while there's two in transit?

I had a Zoeller pump for over ten years with no problems until the switch died. I had to go with Waynes because that's what the hardware store carried and like I said, when you need a replacement you usually need it in a hurry. I've gone through 5 Wayne pumps in 6 years, this will be the last.

The 3/4-HP Wayne sump pump replaced a 1-HP pump that was quickly dying on us. Since installing this pump, I have to say it's the most quiet, efficient sump pump I have ever installed in my home. I never hear it running, and it's so quiet that I have actually thrown water in the sump just to make sure it's working. It discharges fast and I like the Genius Technology because I've had problems in the past with floats.

5.0 out of 5 stars So far, so good., April 24, 2011

First of all, what a pleasure it was to purchase this product through amazon.com. Amazon delivered on time as promised and I found the reviews especially helpful (so much so that I decided to write to "pay it forward"). Installation was simple -- after threading the PVC pipe into the outlet, I dropped it into the well, connected it to my existing system, plugged it in, and watched it drain the water quickly and quietly. The pump operates so quietly, I have to admit that I checked on it several times because I was convinced it has stopped working. Since it has only been a week, I give it four starts instead of five but so far, it has been a pleasant surprise. Bottom line: the pump works great and I expect it will do so for quite some time.

December 9, 2011 -- I wanted to update this review as indicated. I am still very happy with my purchase. The pump continues to operate flawlessly and quietly (I have stopped checking it to see if it is still working.) Really not much more to say but this pump is a 5-star purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great pump!, February 7, 2011

I think this is going to be a great pump. There is a lot of water in the ground where my home is. The sump is continuously fed water even when it hasn't rained. My pump that was in there for 12 years stopped working. I replaced it with one from Rural King. It turned out to be a piece of garbage. The float would always stick. I used that one for a few months until I found this one. This pump was a good replacement. Never have to worry about a sticky float again. The floats on pumps always go bad long before the pump itself does. Hopefully this one will last 12 years or longer too.

Received pump on time and in new condition. I never had a pump with this kind of switch before so I was a bit leery, but the pump switch works good and the pump runs smooth and fairly quiet. All in all I am satisfied with it so far.

I just got this product from amazon today. Installed it right aways since my old sump had burnt out. When my basement was flooded, I cleaned the water out with a Utility pump, it took 10-12 hrs to get the water out. The amount of water the utility pump used to extract int he sump well in one hour was moved by this guys in just seconds. Awesome product....

Pump works great. The only thing I dont like is that there is no adjustment to the Switch Genius. My sump pit isnt very large and not having a ball typy float makes it fit with plenty of room. I am contacting Wayne to see what alternatives I have to change the on and off height. It really turns on to soon and off to late. Other than that it pumps like crazy.

I recently purchased this from Amazon. I am pleased with the products performance. Being a licensed plumber and electrician I have installed a number of sump pumps. I was finding that most of them are not as good as they once were. This is an excellent product for a good price. It uses an electronic/digital water sensor which has been tested for 5 years. The warranty is lifetime.

I installed this pump several months ago. It's been given a good workout by numerous heavy rains, I was a bit worried about the (for me) unusual water level on-off switch; but it has worked fine. One thing surprised me. Compared to the pump it replaced, this pump is Very quiet - a definite plus.
