1.0 out of 5 stars WARNING! WARNING!! WARNING!!! June 5, 2012
Format:Blu-ray|Verified Purchase
This movie package is Blu-ray in disc capacity ONLY! I bought it hoping for a blu-ray copy of McLintock. But I would rate the video quality of this package at below VHS long play quality. The Duke must be spinning in his grave at the misrepresentation of this product. DO NOT expect quality viewing in this package!

1.0 out of 5 stars expected better June 6, 2012
By Keoma
Format:Blu-ray|Verified Purchase
This blu-ray collection is very poor picture quality. The companies that produce these (such as Goodtimes) don't really care about quality but only want to make a buck. I started to watch "Mclintock" but stopped it after watching the opening credits. I'll wait for the official release from the Wayne library onto blu-ray. Till then don't waste your money.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing video quality May 27, 1999
By A Customer
Format:DVD
Ten terrific early John Wayne black-and-white westerns, but most suffer from inferior source materials. Being bargain priced is no excuse for such poor quality in the DVD medium,

1.0 out of 5 stars Do Not Buy May 27, 2012
Format:Blu-ray|Verified Purchase
Incredibly poor video quality...don't be fooled by the fact that this is distributed on bluray. The quality looks like someone basically captured VHS tape as it was playing in some cases.

1.0 out of 5 stars John Wayne Collection - 5 Pack July 17, 2001
Format:DVD
These 10 movies in 5 DVDs from Madacy Entertainment are of the poorest quality that you will find. Most of them look like they are 5th generation copies of VHS tapes that were then copied to DVD. I was looking forward to adding to my collection of John Wayne DVDs, but I would not keep these if they gave them away. I will never buy another DVD from Madacy again.

2.0 out of 5 stars DVD quality sucks July 18, 2010
Format:DVD
I bought this for my dad for Fathers Day, and he was really excited to start watching them. He said the quality was so bad, he couldn't even finish the movie he was watching. He said it was like a bad copy from VHS to DVD. I will be returning this.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very Sad Transfer March 27, 2001
Format:DVD
I bought this box set of " John Wayne Collection " because ever since i was a small boy i have been a big fan of the Duke (J.Wayne)that most of his early films have never been seen in London,England (Great Britan). so for many years they have been showing nearly the same films over and over again ( E.G Rio Bravo,The Alamo and True Grit).
When i saw this box set i was very happy until now : 5 discs, early 1933 films ( great i thought, never seen them in my life ) And now that i am watching the first dvd while writing these words..... Here is what i am thinking What the hell was the company thinking of,this box set is cheap very bad picture quality so dark..... it's like a bad vhs to vhs copy then transered to dvd,I can not see the actors.Let alone the scenery and even the sound is bad very low. please if you are interested in buying the collection stay away from the 5 pack (madacy) collection it's so bad.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor picture quality July 23, 2001
By A Customer
Format:DVD
I purchased this DVD set recently and was very disappointed by the transfer quality used. Some of the films were actually clear in both visual and sound, but others were so poor that they looked like they were transferred from a 3rd or 4th generation copy VHS tape.

This collection is ok and has a couple of good movies, but most of them are for die-hard Wayne fans that would watch him in anything. If that's the case, then this is a good buy.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor Video Quality
It honestly appears the creators used the 240p videos available on youtube to create this set. Pixelated, embarrassingly wretched quality. An awful purchase.
