John Wayne acting as an undercover Marshal,witness a robbery by the notorious Polka-Dot bandit Danti,(Yakima Canutt). Sheriff Jake,'Gabby Hayes'despite
John Wayne saving His life,took Wayne to be the Polka-Dot bandit.
However,in other scene, the town leading citizen Melgrove (Ed.Piel) leader
of a ring of Bandits kept terrorizing the town folk,hoping they will sell their land,homes and ranches rich with Gold to him.The
story comes to a point where Sheriff Jake and Wayne team up to expose the perpetrators,killing the leader and group of bandits in the famous pass. Thus relieving the town folk from further torment.
