Lawn Sprinkling Pump Rated as one star!,

This review is from: Wayne PLS100 1 HP 720 GPH Portable Lawn Sprinkling Pump, Stainless (Tools & Home Improvement)
I started using this pump in August and it worked very well. In October I tried to use it again and the motor would not run. I called the company and they were not helpful. They said that I could send it back for them to look at but they most likely would not fix it since I had used it for more than a couple of hours. So beware that the Wayne company will not stand behind the pump. They said that my pump had been thermally tripped and would not believe me when I told them that it had never been tripped. Now I know why there are so many Wayne pump products for sell as refurbished. If I send my pump back for repair, they will not repair it for me but will resell it as refurbushed. This is poor customer service. I will never purchase another Wayne product again.

Don't buy,
This review is from: Wayne PLS100 1 HP 720 GPH Portable Lawn Sprinkling Pump, Stainless (Tools & Home Improvement)
I bought one of these pumps last winter but did not get to try it out till this summer. After trying to get it primed for about an hour it finally spit out a little water, and I mean a little. If you have to put it in a creek or pond make sure the bank is not higher than 5 feet because it will pump enough water to run a sprinkler. All this pump is good for is running a small fish pond.

Works, great, throws alot of water, we use it at the lake using a 1" suction hose to pull water out, and a garden hose on the other end to sprinkle. If you need a portable sprinkler pump this is a great choice.

The first thing you notice; QUIET! The second thing you notice; POWERFUL! Need any more review than that? It works great for my application. I have a 250 gallon tank that took over two hours to empty for watering trees. It now takes 25 minutes. Very cool! Very Quiet!

Good Pump,

Good pump. With a "y" at the pump discharge and 200' of garden hose on each leg of the "y", with about 6' of elevation on each hose, it will still run two sprinklers nicely.

This pump's product description needs only state two things: 1) that you'd better have an AC outlet RIGHT NEXT TO the "stream" or other water source you're pulling water out of, and 2) that you will NOT be using a generator, extention cord, or anything else but a wall socket (and NOT a CAMPER's wall socket) with this pump. So, imagine working until midnight to plant $800 of and 30 varieties of fruit trees. Imagine no rain in sight for over a week for your freshly planted investment. Now, imagine banging on your neighbor's door and watering-in your trees by HAND until 3am because you had to leave town the next day, and because this pump refused to do what its made for: pump water. I tried using an inverter to power the thing. Nothing. I tried a 1400 watt generator. Nothing. I tried using the outlets in a camper powered by a generator. Nope. So over 3 hours at midnight, I found myself MANUALLY pouring water from 55 GALLON DRUMS into a WHEELBARROW and wheeling THAT over PLOWED DIRT to my $800 worth of trees spaced every 25 feet. I am NOT happy with "city-fied" water pump. If you have any use for it beyond the length of its cord to a wall, don't buy this one. Called Wayne Pump, and after they accidentally hung up on me once, they had two reps confirm that uses like I've described (from a generator or extension cord) are "not what it was designed for." Useless. And don't buy from Amazon unless you want to pay a 15-50% restocking fee ON TOP OF sending this heavy sucker back to them. Piece of junk and rip off.

Wayne Lawn Sprinking Pump works well, with proper setup,

The Wayne #PSL100 Lawn Sprinking Pump works well when properly set up. However care must be taken to ensure that the suction hose doesn't have too much volume which will make it hard to prime or too much flow resistance (too small a diameter or too long)which causes poor pumping performance at the pump outlet.

My use for this pump is somewhat unusual. I bought it as a transfer pump for a very large saline water bed. The opening for the water bed limits the size of the hose for the intake. I had previously bought Wayne PC2 115-Volt 310 GPH Portable Transfer Water Pump, Bronze. It was too slow. It came with a short 5/8" 500 psi burst pressure hose. When I tried to use that hose with the new pump the suction was too great and the hose collapsed. I have ordered a Hudson 5/8" Premium Garden Hose (50 ft) with a 1000 psi burst pressure. I will cut off 6' to use as an input hose and I suspect this will work fine.Other people have noted that their pump arrived damaged. Although my pump does not appear damaged, it could have been. The pump is somewhat heavy. The manufacturer's box is poorly designed for shipping. Amazon did not box it well either and their box was falling apart. I would call Amazon and ask them to double box this product. Otherwise, it is a great pump with a nice switch on the pump and with a long cord.

Very poor head; requires filling the priming port every time - which is a real pain. After 6 months (6 uses) it stopped working altogether. I wouldn't recommend this pump to anyone.
