A Real Page-Turner,
By Laura Welch (Reno, NV) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Wayne's Dead (Paperback)
A serial killer who murders, then mutilates victims and writes "Wayne's Dead" on the wall in their blood. A jaded homicide investigator who is distracted from the investigation by his love affair with a peripheral witness. A psychologist who struggles with his indecision regarding whether or not to contact the police about his patient, the killer. A beautiful young woman who loves the lead investigating detective intensely yet harbors dark secrets. Does the serial killer actually suffer from MPD or not? You decide.I read this book in one day - the story moves quickly and held my attention throughout the book with characters you love and those you hate. The dialogue seems real-life, some of the scenes are realistically grisly, and the love affair between Jackson and Gillian intense. Reminds me of the Davenport series by John Sandford. Great read. I highly recommend this one.

This review is from: Wayne's Dead (Paperback)
And you all were right. This book was a captivating read from start to finish. I couldn't put it down. It is a rather short novel but very good. I felt the characters were well drawn and eventually, I did guess the perp at about the first or second chapter. A good mystery that was very good but in a class of its own. I wish there were more books out there by this author that I can find. Thanks to your reviews, I am glad to have read this book.

Spine Tingling Thriller,
By Cindy Farrell (Knoxville, TN) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Wayne's Dead (Paperback)
After reading this author's other two books, I made sure I had enough time to read "Wayne's Dead" without interruption before starting. Again, I was drawn into the story from the first and remained engrossed throughout. I can't decide which of her books I prefer, they're all that good. But if you're a thriller lover, this book will not disappoint. It moves like a "Law and Order" script - fast and succinct, no lapses or dull parts. The charcterization is the best, the dialogue freshly real and gritty, and with vivid scenes. The romantic story within the murder investigation is a real bonus. French writes kind of like a cross between John Sandford and Elmore Leonard.I won't give a summary since that's been done already and can only add this is a mesmerizing look at a serial killer suffering from MPD and the frantic search by the investigators to track their killer before another attorney falls prey.
