Editorial Reviews

WAYNE'S WORLD: Based on the Saturday Night Live sketch of the same name, Wayne's World is a wacky, irreverent pop-culture comedy about the adventures of two amiably aimless metal-head friends, Wayne (Mike Myers) and Garth (Dana Carvey). From Wayne's basement, the pair broadcast a talk-show called "Wayne's World" on local public access television. The show comes to the attention of a sleazy network executive (Rob Lowe) who wants to produce a big-budget version of "Wayne's World"—and he also wants Wayne's girlfriend, a rock singer named Cassandra (Tia Carrere). Wayne and Garth have to battle the executive not only to save their show, but also Cassandra. Director Penelope Spheeris, Myers and Carvey hang a lot of silly, but funny, jokes on this thin plot, and the energy of the cast—as well as the wild pop-culture references—make Wayne's World a cut above the average Saturday Night Live spin-off movie. WAYNE"S WORLD 2: Everyone's favorite headbangers from Aurora, Illinois, are back in this sequel to the 1992 hit comedy Wayne's World. The success of their TV show allows Wayne Campbell (Mike Myers) and Garth Algar (Dana Carvey) to finally move out of their parents' homes, but now they have to figure out what to do with their lives. Wayne's girlfriend, up-and-coming rock star Cassandra (Tia Carrere), is enjoying a career boost thanks to her new manager Bobby Cohn (Christopher Walker), but Garth thinks that Bobby is more interested in her body than her place on the charts. Meanwhile, Wayne is visited in a dream by the late Jim Morrison (Michael A. Nickles), who convinces him to promote a massive rock festival, "Waynestock," featuring Aerosmith as headliners. Garth, on the other hand, is finally relieved of his pesky virginity by femme fatale Honey Hornee (Kim Basinger), though it turns out that Honey has a hidden agenda. Drew Barrymore, Harry Shearer, and Charlton Heston play cameo roles in Wayne's World 2, and Jay Leno, Rip Taylor, and Todd Rundgren appear as themselves.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great two-fer minus a few extras November 26, 2007
This DVD includes both films in widescreen format but omits the directors' commentary tracks, trailers, and cast info that was available on the separate DVDs. With these films, I really don't miss those extras. Great, funny stuff.

Umm i just love the way these films are presented in widescreen the way they were meant to be seen and both films are on one DVD but it's not double sided thank goodness. there is alittle dirt at beginning of Wayne's World that being the paramount logo at the beginning. but other than that it fine actually it looks good for it's age, being made in the 90's and it's been enhanced for16:9 widescreen tv's. it would've been nice if there were extras on this disc, but hey with bargain price like this, i can't really complain. so if you don't mind not have any extras(goodies) and just want the films, then this barebones DVD is for you.

Wayne's World the first movie is just way funny the second is good but nowhere near funny as the original. but is an interesting film anyway and fun to watch. Oh the sound you have the option of english dolby 5.1 or 2.0 surround sound the french soundtrack is in 2.0 and they're only english subtitles on both films.

Highly Recommended for a good laugh.

The Films Are Both PG-13 For language and some sexual humor.

4.0 out of 5 stars Wayne's World=Awesome Movie! October 1, 2008
"Wayne's World" is probably one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. It's one of those movies where you either get it or you don't. Some of my friends hate it and others love it. I like it so much b/c some of the things Wayne and Garth laugh about and say are some things that I could see myself doing and laughing about. I think it's completely genuis. It has so many classic lines. I've seen it many times, and every time I watch it I catch something new. Fav parts are: Scooby-Doo ending, when they meet Alice Cooper, when they order chinese and say I want the cream of some young guy (lmao!), the advertisements for doritos, pepsi, pizza hut...aww hell...every single part rocks. I can't pick out my favs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wayne's World... Excellent! June 8, 2010
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
Compared to other big screen versions of Saturday Night Live skits (including the current McGuiver spoof), Wayne's World is the best of the lot. Due primarily to the considerable talents of Mike Meyers and Dana Carvey, the laughs provided here are nearly effortless. The humor may be juvenile at times but that's just part of the charm of these characters. My eleven year old son watched the first Wayne's World movie with me and couldn't stop laughing. He immediately asked to see the sequel. Fortunately, I'd bought the double feature version of the DVD so I had it right on hand! If you're looking for light, not-so-sophisticated fun, I would highly recommend Wayne's World. Now... party on!

4.0 out of 5 stars pretty good July 15, 2009
this is a pretty good double feature, i love the movies, and wish there was a third, my dvd is the same thing except at the top it says "wayne's world collection" and has a black background on the back instead of yellow.

the quality is good. for a while i only had the second film, and that was on vhs, so thank god for this set. i got both films, on dvd, which is better quality than vhs, for cheap at best buy.

the only thing i don't like is there is no special features, but other than that, this is a must have!
