5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Sleep Problem Compendium - though 1995
Of the dozens of sleep problem books I have read (from self-help to medical) and hundreds of articles, this compendium of 67 sleep modification tricks is the single book I would recommend to someone with sleep difficulty. Nothing new here - heck, it is copyright 1995. But with the explosion of sleep research over the last 15 years, not much has changed regarding the...

67 Ways To Good Sleep is a cute little booklet that contains a number of useful suggestions on how to change your sleeping habits for the better.

If you're looking for exhaustive research on sleep disorders, etc., this is definitely not what you are looking for. Most of the sources quoted in the book seem to be culled from a variety of newspapers, magazine articles, self-help books, etc. Not exactly what you would call highly scientific.

Still, for the meager cover price, it does provide some useful tips and is probably worth the money for most. At the very least, I was bored enough after reading a few pages in order to get some rest.

The quality of this book reminds one of one of those little booklets you find at the check-out aisle at K-Mart or the local grocery store. Don't expect much. Still, I found enough of the information worth reading to give it three stars.

If you have not read any tips on how to improve your sleep, this may be an "eye opener" for you. If you have done any amount of research on the subject though, you should probably skip this book, as it covers no new ground, and has little content that one could label as "original".

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Sleep Problem Compendium - though 1995, January 6, 2012
Of the dozens of sleep problem books I have read (from self-help to medical) and hundreds of articles, this compendium of 67 sleep modification tricks is the single book I would recommend to someone with sleep difficulty. Nothing new here - heck, it is copyright 1995. But with the explosion of sleep research over the last 15 years, not much has changed regarding the basics. No required sleep log and dream journal. No prescription medication (though melatonin, my hero, is discussed. Many references are cited though few are medical journals (who cares, most of the 67 ways are obvious). The book is only 75 pages and is an easy read - each of the 67 ways takes up less than one page. But this is good - Inlander gets to the point without padding.

If you don't solve your problems with this book you either don't REALLY want to solve your sleep problems (nightlife too enticing?) or you have a serious medical condition requiring the intervention of a sleep specialist.
