She has also appeared on many television and radio programs, and is a popular speaker to parent groups and teacher seminars. She and her husband, Holmes, live in Oklahoma City with their three children.

Her ministry, Families Pray USA, motivates and equips moms, dads, children, teens, and churches to impact their world through prayer. A former teacher, Cheri holds a master's degree in English literature. Cheri, who led a Moms In Touch group for 12 years, is married with three grown children and six grandchildren.

I love receiving great information which is easy to put into practice--just one idea per day. As a mother of a young child, I am always wanting fun ways to help him learn. The ideas can be easily integrated into your every day life. The ideas presented are for small and older children.

One idea particularly interesting during this election year is as follows: Follow the election campaign of a state, national or local candidate. Let your child collect the candidate's information, find out his or her opinions on the issues, and clip out newspaper stories about that person. If your child feels the candidate is worthy of support, both of you could offer to volunteer some time to help the campaign.
