29 Ways To Make Your Stepfamily Work,
By
This review is from: 29 Ways to Make Your Stepfamily Work (Paperback)
This is an amazing book that gives real life situations for step-families with clear guidance to improve and strengthen your step-family. It is truly written from the heart and can be of significant value for those who experience the challenges of a step-family with particular emphasis on improving the situation for the children. Every person in this situation should read Kelly's book. There are also some great ideas that can be used for traditional families.

A Stepfamily MUST,

This review is from: 29 Ways to Make Your Stepfamily Work (Paperback)
Kelly Kirkendoll Shafer's 29 Ways to Make Your Stepfamily Work is a more than a self-help book...it's a bed-side reference manual for every stepfamily. It provides on-target information I learned the hard way when I began my stepfamily experience twenty years ago. We made it, but Kelly's book would have made the making it easier. I would recommend it not only for stepfamilies, but for grandparents and aunts and uncles of stepfamily units. Know a stepfamily you love? Give this gem of a book. But do yourself a favor. Get yourself a copy first, so you will be ready to help in the bonding process. You'll also find info that is beneficial in all relationships...and you'll want to recommend it to everyone you know who it trying to make family meaningful in today's world.

Kelly Kirkendoll Shafer's 29 Ways to Make Your Stepfamily Work is a great read. Even though this book is geared towards stepfamilies, I have to recommend the book to all mothers, fathers and caregivers. Kelly's tips are meaningful no matter the circumstances. Definitely a bedside reference book and a great gift for anyone going through the experience.

I do not have a blended family yet, however we are in the process of adopting an older child and bringing this child home with us permanently. The 29 ways can apply to families of all types. I appreciate the author's experience, her heart, and her love of family that comes through the pages of this book.
