From the Author

The reason I'm passionate about vegetarian cooking is simple.  Not only does eating more fruits and vegetables help prevent many diseases, it can even reverse some diseases as well...wow!  However, just because I choose to eat healthy does not mean that my diet has to be bland and boring!  And so, that's my mission...to find recipes that are not only nutritious, but also delicious.   Not only that, but I don't have to be in the kitchen all day or break the bank to eat healthy either.

I hope you enjoy these 21 ways to save time and money cooking vegetarian recipes I've prepared for you in this book.

Lots of great information, this book will help both the old and the new cook. I had forgotten many of the timely and cost saving tips and learned plenty of new ones. Enjoyed the part on cooking beans and am now looking into buying a pressure cooker, can't believe how quickly you can cook beans in one. I think everyone who spends any time in the kitchen could benefit from reading Shelley's book.

I really enjoyed this book. I am a very organized person but I learned a lot of all of the advice Shelley has listed. AND - she just doesn't say 'oh clip coupons' she spells it out and gives you how-to and where-to information as well. And you don't have to be a vegetarian to find this book helpful - it contains lots of practical advice for any kind of cook for any type of food.

The book was easy to read and packed a lot of great info into each chapter. I highly recommend you read this book.

Shelley has previously written vegetarian recipe books but don't be fooled into thinking that this book is just for vegetarians, its ideal for anybody who wants to save money and prepare food quickly. Let's face it, that's pretty much all of us.

A clickable contents table makes it quick and easy to find what you want.

I particularly liked the guidance on cooking beans. This book gives you the cooking times for the beans that we most often use. Introductions to different cooking methods are described and timings for stove top, pressure cooker and the crock pot are given. Useful if you are thinking of buying or just getting your own out of the cupboard again. I will be honest and say that I didn't know that I could bake potatoes in my slow cooker, mine was whipped out of the cupboard straight away!

Advice on growing vegetables, sprouts and herbs is provided. Shelley adds a link here which takes you to her website, where there are videos and three different ways of sprouting.

Part of the book is geared to getting you organised in your kitchen with advice on meal planning and shopping. Shelley shows us how to work out the best deal when at the supermarket. Even how to save money while eating out. Also a chapter on couponing which I didn't know much about until now!

There is so much info in this book for the price. What isn't already mentioned is that you can get 40 of Shelley's recipes in a PDF file for free! Not only is this author showing us how to save money but she is giving us a free recipe book as well!

If you want to get in the kitchen, prepare food quickly and easily and save money while you are doing it, this is the book for you.

I love the info on dry beans, some of which I've never seen anywhere else. This is a lovely little book filled with tips and useful information. Great resource for the novice cook, and there are useful hints for the more experienced, as well.

This book is a quick read and absolutely chock full of great tips and ideas. I never seem to cook beans long enough so the "How to Cook Beans" section is a goldmine for me. I also never know what fruits and veggies are in season until I go to the grocery store...and even then I could be buying some that are not and paying more. So the section that lists when all produce is available for what month...great addition! I found the book a bit repetitive with words, but other than that, very easy and enjoyable read! Can only win with the tips inside!

The title of the book 21 Ways to Save Time and Money Cooking Vegetarian Recipes...is really a FANTASTIC resource to SAVE TIME and MONEY. It is not just for Vegetarians BUT FOR EVERYONE!!! I was impressed with the table of contents and really didn't look back. Shelley Lynne covers many things in this book...I can't even decide which tip section I would say stands out as A#1 as they are all fantastic!

The tips given are for ALL types of eaters! There are lists of when to buy items based on growing seasons to get the best affordability all with the eye to us as consumers.

This book is great for everyone: people starting out to people who like finding better ways to keep THEIR money!

I CANNOT emphasize enough that this book is NOT just for Vegetarians but for anyone who purchases food (including a section on eating out!), has a kitchen, etc. I cannot WAIT to start using some of the tips and I know will incorporate more and more.

I'm not a vegetarian but I always look for Shelley's books. In her recipe books she provides recipes for really great-tasting dishes that I can make and enjoy even if I'm not a vegetarian.

In this book she provides a wealth of information about shopping smartly and cooking efficiently. What I loved were the lists of fruits you can freeze and those you can't freeze. There's a long list of fruits, vegetables and spices and when they're in season. There's a list of how long you can refrigerate specific vegetables. There's a list of companies you can write to for store coupons. And there's so much more in the book.

If you follow half the information in this book you'll have healthy food and will save money. Great book!

The title should have stopped at just "21 Way to Save Time and Money" adding "in The Kitchen" and left off the rest of the title. This is a great compilation which should be read by any beginner cook. Whether you are just starting out in your new household or just getting back to cooking after years of eating out, there are enough facts and suggestions gathered together to make reading this a worthwhile endeavor. Definitely recommended!
