Music is exciting in itself and it can literally change lives, as Vincent shows with all the stories that he shares here. I love that fact that now when I listen to some songs I also remember those stories. In a certain way, this book changed the way I see, hear and feel music!!! Loved it!!!

Music is powerful. It's spiritual. It's a language that everyone understands. AND it's personal. This book is a fantastic collection of stories from the personal experiences people have. It take the reader on a journey across the lives of people from many backgrounds and cultures. I really like the way you get a look through so many windows of different people's lives, and see how music has affected them. Quite an extraordinary way to bring this to a reader. Perfect gift for someone who likes music or short inspirational stories. I am going to use this as a stocking stuffer, and also for those people who are hard to find a gift for.

This book is an inspiring little gem! Of course everyone knows how important music is, but when I flipped through and started reading a few of these stories, some of them really blew my socks off, like the story about the overweight high school girl who was encouraged to sing in a school performance and astonished her classmates, then went on to become a Grammy-winning artist. The great thing about this book for ADD types like me is how short each story is. I can open up the book to any page and gobble up a few great stories, and at the same time become acquainted with a great many artists, some famous, some not. All of them offer their own unique approach to the simple question "What makes music important to you"...probably as unique as their music. And their stories are touching and personal.

I heartily recommend this book for anyone - be they musician or listener. Just buy it:)

If there's one thing I should really spend more time doing; it's listening to music. If you're a fan of music, motivation, and inspiration then 88+ Ways Music Can Change Your Life is a must read, as it's filled with those types of stories.

I particularly liked Gregg Hammond's story of "Guitars Not Guns"; a reminder that I really should pick up my guitar and learn to play it!

I was given this book as a gift a few months ago. Since then I have read it cover to cover learning so many fascinating things about the people who I have respected and admired for decades.
The individual stories are beautifully told, and as I finally read the last page, I found myself looking forward to the next (hopefully) edition.
I lent it to my sister, who has now lent it to her best friend. And so it goes.
