3.0 out of 5 stars Good and bad
There are good and bad suggestions in here, but perhaps that is a strength, as it will get your mind working. If one good idea comes of a quick reading, then the book has paid for itself, no problem.

I would like to say I was put off by the authors left wing ranting and felt it was out of place. In fact, I pretty much lost respect for her and it hurt my opinion of...

Once you've read Raleigh Pinskey's books, you are hooked. I started out as an engineer, and Raleigh is helping me to come all the way out of my shell. She has written the perfect book to help me out!

Needless to say 101 Ways to Promote Yourself is playing a huge role in helping me to be a successful writer. I now consider Raleight to be a success mentor. Her wisdom is easy to follow - but more than that it is right on! I guarantee that if you read this book you will have tons of marketing ideas for promoting yourself - it's that incredible.

Raleigh always covers all of the proactive bases: smart thinking, system thinking, futuristic thinking, and positive thinking. If you are truly seeking the kind of success and abundance that makes your life 100% livable - you must read this book. Some of the ideas she promotes are found in SUCCESS BOUND, another book built on learning how to live a proactively life that is God centered and fulfilling.

Ponder the wisdom and truths of this book and let them seep deep into your subconscious mind. Then step out of your shell and PROMOTE YOURSELF.

4.0 out of 5 stars Delivers what it promises without granola, some Perrier., April 18, 2000

Philip Clement (Canadian West Coast (aka Paradise)) - See all my reviews
This review is from: 101 Ways To Promote Yourself (Audio Cassette)
This book is not about motivation, complex inner considerations, visualisations, nor creating purpose in your life. It is about fulfilling your vision - not FINDING one- although you will be clearer after reading Raleigh, what your strong points are and where you have some holes in your marketing / promoting/ self image. You will get more out of this book when you already HAVE your business/craft/dream... THEN reading this book will be like having a professional coach in your corner pointing in all the right directions to reach your target market, whether you be a toothbrush salesman or a rocket scientist and anything in between.

This book will help you find the language and the medium to devise and deliver your message. The start point of book is you HAVE a message or product or service already. Author is 100% a pro and a Mensch. Matter of fact winning strategies.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Very Informative!!, July 31, 1998
By A Customer
The book stands out as a very good guide for the first time entrepreneur or the seasoned seller. It brought out so many improtant things for me as a first time business person, such as the importance of a name in business, promoting yourself in the media and ways to do it, and most importantly how to hold on to those Valued customers you do get. I have referred this book to many of my friends who are thinking of or who are starting a new business. It is very exciting and has many many good pointers. Definitely recommended as a way to help promote yourself and your business! It Helped me to gain confidence in myself and my abilities and is going to be a book I refer to every step of the way!

5.0 out of 5 stars Forgeddabout paying high priced PR firms!, June 11, 2000
This book is EVERYTHING you need to know to REALLY understand promotion and marketing. This lady is some kind of genius or something. I learned more from this little book than I did in all the previous marketing classes I'd taken with fancy guys like Jay Abraham. What an impressive book this is, and it's so well-written it was easy to follow and create a marketing plan customizzed to MY needs. I refer ALL my clients to it now - the one book to have if you don't want to spend a lifetime studying marketing! Good work, Ms. Pinskey!

5.0 out of 5 stars From 101 to #1 Is The Only Way To Promote Yourself, May 23, 2005

Raleigh Pinskey, makes it nearly impossible for you to fail in promoting yourself using this book unless maybe by chance you apply the following three methods

1.) You accidently put this book in a corner and can't find it.
2.) You close your eyes and can't remember where you put it.
3.) You use this book as a hat rack.

Well I didn't try anyone of the above techniques because I was too busy trying to read this book.

Raleigh is truly a Viz-ability coach who knows her stuff. On page 76 she tells you to "Sponsor A Contest", pg 212 she informs you to use Testimonials, pg 21 put your picture on a business card and promote yourself some more and last but not least she gives you 98 fresh, interesting, exciting other ways to get started on your self promotion mission.

Pinskey provides all the little bitty tid bits necessary for you to move from the rank and file of the average into the upper board rooms of the highly exalted. Pinskey's book roars with detailed steps and a caring that you rarely see in a tell-all-book like 101 Ways To Promote Yourself.

4.0 out of 5 stars MARKETING IDEAS ALL IN ONE BOOK, August 26, 2001
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I only rate it four stars because I myself am a sole proprietor and it does help to have a book with a bunch of marketing ideas all in one. I do admit that some of the ideas for a sole proprietor is a little far fetched, but I reference it all the time to get some ideas going to market my services. I would still recommend it for those starting a business.
