5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent young adult fiction in the world of Dragonlance!, September 12, 2006

This review is from: The Wayward Wizard: Suncatcher Trilogy, Volume One (Dragonlance: The New Adventures) (Paperback)
When I picked up this novel, I had fairly low expectations: I've long viewed the Dragonlance series as too eternal, fluffy and otherwise unengaging to be worth my time. A friend recommended Jeff Sampson's work in the Dragonlance universe to me and I typically trust her judgement.

I wasn't disappointed.

Although older readers like myself will find the story briefer and less involved than we're used to, the Wayward Wizard works well for its intended audience. The characters, especially the main, are much more interesting than the average cookie-cutter fantasy drivel that gets passed off as "young adult" fantasy.

Pick the book up. You won't be disappointed.
