Editorial Reviews

For those of you who saw the recent Traffic Sound reissue, here is more of the same great psychedelic sound from way down South. We All Together were part of the same legendary Peruvian rock scene of early seventies that spawned the great Traffic Sound, although We All Together stayed more firmly rooted in Beatlesesque territory. Lead singer & owner of the legendary Peruvian MAG label, Carlos Guerrero (who sings in near perfect English) has often been referred to as a Peruvian John Lennon, and while he may not be quite his South American twin, his beautiful vocals still carry on their excellent 1972, self-titled debut, six original tracks and four covers. Two of the covers are from Badfinger’s 'Magic Christian Music' LP, while the other two are from Wings’ 'Wild Life'. Get Back Records. 2007.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best group ever?, July 3, 2008
This review is from: We All Together (Audio CD)
"Near perfect English" ha ha ha. :-D
The editorial review will make Carlos laugh.
This is a perfect Album, with a lot of history of its own. The long lost master tape had to be rebuilt since it was worn almost to be teared apart. The album was originally recorded in an 8-track recorder a few years after Sgt Peppers album and in a moment when the recording industry in Peru was a reality and was actually a leader in South America. If you listen to Peruvian rock and compare it to Argentinean Rock in those times you will notice the difference. Carlos' voice is a pitch perfect marvel, and the instrumentation, along with the synphonic arrangements will make this album an unforgettable experience.

5.0 out of 5 stars A little bit of world rock (the peruvian experience), July 5, 2008
This review is from: We All Together (Audio CD)
Without any doubt,"We All Together" is by far the best band of soft rock ever existed in Peru. They had the peculiarity to compose and sing in English (except in two or three of their hits) in a way that no other group did since rock exists in Peru. The 70's were strongly marked by a dictatorship military government that forbade almost everything coming from USA and the music in English was hard to hear in radio or TV. Notwithstanding, this band imposed on unforgettable musical pages like "Some people never know", "Together forever" (not in this album), "It's a sin to go away", "Revolution", "Lo mas grande que existe en el amor"(their greatest hit in Spanish that unfortunately is not included in this CD too), "Walking in the rain" and others. It is very curious that some songs that had not stirred any public's interest like "Bluebird" (of Paul McCartney and The Wings)and "Carry on till tomorrow" (of Badfinger) became very popular when interpreted by this extraordinary youngs. This CD is a very important part of their production, it has been recorded with the original sound and is very recommendable.

4.0 out of 5 stars Raw Finger, September 15, 2011

This review is from: We All Together (Audio CD)
Three songs on We All Together were written by Paul McCartney (Tomorrow & Some People Never Know [from Wings Wild Life] and Bluebird [from Band On The Run] and one song was written by Badfinger [Carry On 'Til Tomorrow]. The rest of the songs are original from what I can tell. They fit nicely with the covers. McCartney's influence is never far away. "Hey Revolution" even quotes The Beatles' famous song. "Dear Sally" is a clone of "Oh! Daring".

Sound quality is rawer than Apple recordings but is highly enjoyable.
