And I just happened to fall on a great one! This band has a lot of potential and lost sof talents. They are in the vein of My Chemical Romance (but better) and Thrice (but not as good). I thought the doube vocals similar to Lacuna Coil's where a man and a woman are singing are very effective since they can reach a high set of notes. The music is slightly progressive, a bit goth, and quite emo, this is against all expectations a very good mix! The one thing I found annoying though, were the frequent blanks with weird music in it, although these are becoming more common and fit very well in some music, this band sometimes overdoes it.
The pianos and violins blend in very well with the rest of the music and they are what gives it that goth touch. The guitarists are quite talented, and there is a short but sweet solo in kiss me like you wanted. The singer sings pretty well, not great, but he screams a bit too much in this music where there should be long sentimental notes. It also sounds like he is trying to copy Gerard Way from MCR in some songs with the great big gasps and dog barks. The girl sings very well and has a beautiful voice, she is a nice original addition to this band.
Overall a very good album which I would rate 4.5 if I could

I've been listening to these guys since Feb 05 and I have to say, I've never been so impressed by a band with so much support from the fans and dedication to their fans. I remember when they promised to mail a free demo CD to all fans who submitted their addresses, and sure enough I got it. Purely for the fans, I Am Ghost. These guys are awesome. This is how I would give a review to their album:

Starting off with a dark surreal opening of "The Dead Girl Epilogue" that leads into a highly energetic "Pretty People Never Die...." is just awesome. The intensive break down in "Eulogies and Epitaphs" (which was actually a fan suggest song title) is so full of emotion and power it gives me an awesome feeling everytime I hear it, the type of feeling that makes your spine tingle. As the album continues "Lady Madeline In Her Coffin" is deep. This is probably my favorite song on the album, if I had to pick only one. The final song, "The Last Goodbye of Smile and Bone" is such a great way to end such a great album. I enjoy the added sound effects which give a visual of the story portrayed throughout the album. This band has a lot, they are very deep and intense. With the accented female vocals of Kerith and the truly unique voice of Steve, this music will seriously get your blood pulsating within your veins. I love it!

If you like dark, power punk rock, post hardcore music with such a beautiful collaboration of instruments and vocal talent that touches all sides of the audio spectrum, I Am Ghost's "We Are Always Searching" is the definitely the next album for you.

I love this band! This cd is a little more raw than 'Lover's requiem' but none the less it's brilliant. It's hard and heavy, menacing but not in your face. Gothic rock!

Great lyrics, great music, awesome sound. Really glad I bought this album. I Am Ghost will reach the top soon.

Alright, for those of you who say "go listen to MCR", what are you thinking?!?! This band has SO much more originality, much better vocals, we don't need any whiney Gerard Way here, the guitars are much more innovative, the strings and piano not only back up the song but add their own style. They are musical geniuses, everything fits together perfectly, to create an amazing sound! Goth rock/screamo/punk whatever you want to call it, it's amazing, and definetly worth whatever you pay for it. I Am Ghost is an amazing band, and wonderful people as well.

okay jsut want to say that I bought this cd not even knowing who the hell the band were cuz I had money to spare blah blah blah..
newayz on the cover it caught my attention right away with its beautifull artwork and confuzzing yet captive name.. On the front it said for fans of my chemical romance, from first to last and thrice I think it was.. and on the back they said they are known for being able to mix goth rock with pianos and violins.. so for me thats a must
First song creeped me out, I was like now this is goth rock.. then the rest came in..
It sounds good,, great quality,, kick ass riffs and great singers..
but the whole deal with this album is just that it got " Too Creative".. too creative for its own good.. this band is hella creative.. but the producers did not do a very good job on limiting the bands imagination to a level where they are doing something new and sounding good at desame time.. there shuld be more female singers,, the guys good and all but ya know it goth rock when the chikk starts singing thats when it really gets freakky!!

This band has no doubt lots and lots of talents.. but gahd they are trying waaay too hard to impress,,, its their first album.. they didint have to try and go platinum... ehh was still good, worth yer 15 bukks

this first EP or debut of i am ghost and song in this EP more show that they realy ghost. huh, however is a good begining of this post-hardcore band....

I listened to some of the songs off this album. Especially in Lady Madeline, I found some of the lyrics good and the rest just emo drivel--and bad emo drivel at that. So I did a search online for some of the lines from Lady M and wouldn't you know, I came upon a website by a poet named Jason Paul Fox. He wrote most of his poetry 15-20 years ago, when many of the members of IAG were very young children at best. I looked through the album to find Mr Fox credited, but his name appears nowhere. So, kiddies, now you know where they came up with such great poetry. Sorry to burst your bubble.
