Hard-hitting melodic rock, March 28, 2010

2008's We Are...Charing Cross is the full-length debut album by Swiss melodic hard rockers Charing Cross. Like fellow Swiss rockers Shakra, Charing Cross delivers hard-hitting melodic rock that straddles the line between rock and metal.
If you want a good summary of Charing Cross's sound, check out track #2 on this album. It's called "Kick A__ Rock n' Roll," and that's about all there is to say. This is what Pink Cream 69 would sound like with Edguy's Tobias Sammett on vocals. It's heavy, melodic, powerful, and above all rocking. My favorite songs on this album are "Burn the Sun," "Palace of Fate" and "Forever Rockin'," but really the whole album is first rate.
If you're a fan of bands like Shakra, Pink Cream 69, Human Zoo and Gotthard, We Are...Charing Cross is a must-have. I'd also recommend it to anyone who grew up in the 80's to bands like King Kobra, Leatherwolf and Dokken and are wondering where that kind of music disappeared to.
