We Are Ever So Clean

Probably, this must be one of the most dificult psychedelic records to get on cd, but in the last week I finally bought a canadian edition with a fine sound, hélas!!! And, what can I say, it's just a perfect psychedelic masterpiece and I don't know why so underrated... In a top sixties classics, in my humble opinion, is top-ten record!!! Rich and bold arrangements, happy-face lyrics, sometimes a gloomy and shivering-skin guitar & strings (sublime "What's It For"), sometimes an excentric hautbois or tuba creating an eclectic atmosphere song, in a Sgt. Pepper's Beatles manner (delightful "Mister Watchmaker"), beautiful and sparkling love-songs ("Love Is" and "You", the last one with a groovy interplay guitar-percussion),a bit of Oscar Wilde, a bit of social analysis, what an attitude!!!!!!!! This first Blossom Toes should be a cult classic, so superb is this music!!! It's the kind of psychedelic record that make you feel so positive... a MASTERPIECE!!
(The second "If Only For a Moment" from 1969 is heavier but also perfect).

The "We Are Ever So Clean" cd is really somthing out of the ordinary, but has a certian charm to it. The Blossom Toes are a group you actually have to appreciate, because they were not anything like there fellow UK Psych. groups, They had their own sound that when you first hear it you may not like, but it will grow on you the more you listen to it. It is a good CD, but I woulnd't recomend it for the average Psych. fan, if u are like me and wanna appreciate the oddities of the Psych. music world, this is a cd for you.
