4.0 out of 5 stars Best Album since "Sacrifice"
Motorhead's new release "We are Motorhead" is a return to brutality for the band. Gone are the standard rock or blues riffs, and in there place is that buzzsaw sound we all know and love. This is easily their heaviest album since "Sacrifice". The opening track "See me Burning" is a rapid fire scorcher featuring that classic double bass...

3.0 out of 5 stars Motorhead - 'We Are Motorhead' (CMC International)
Maybe not the best Motorhead disc ever released, but still worth owning a copy of.Surprisingly enough,on the CD's ballad,"One More F**king Time",Lemmy can actually carry out the feat rather well.Other decent tracks include "Stay Out Of Jail",the Sex Pistol's cover "God Save The Queen","Wake The Dead" and the title cut "We Are Motorhead" which pretty much says it all.Good...

4.0 out of 5 stars Best Album since "Sacrifice", May 17, 2000
This review is from: We Are Motorhead (Audio CD)
Motorhead's new release "We are Motorhead" is a return to brutality for the band. Gone are the standard rock or blues riffs, and in there place is that buzzsaw sound we all know and love. This is easily their heaviest album since "Sacrifice". The opening track "See me Burning" is a rapid fire scorcher featuring that classic double bass drum thunder heard in other Motorhead thrashers. Most songs are uptempo, and Phil Campbells leadwork sounds spontaneous, and top-notch. The closing track "We are Motorhead" is an instant classic and one of the best "theme-songs" I've heard from ANY band. The only weak point (and this is minor) is the production. While not awful, the guitars sound like they needed to be mixed higher,as the overall sound is a little bottom heavy. Still, a must have for Motorhead fans, as well as fans of loud rock/metal.

5.0 out of 5 stars the snaggletoothed-dog-faced god has done it again, June 15, 2000
This review is from: We Are Motorhead (Audio CD)
It's quite unbelieveable that after 25 years and countless albuns, Lemmy can still deliver such a powerful album as this. Always walking a thin line between metal and punk, Motorhead's fire burns brighter than ever.

The record opens with a sonic burst of raw metal that left me ear-shattered on the ground. The second track "Slow Dance" demonstrates the sheer power of motoriffs that only mr.Kilminster and mr. Campbell can so superbly provide. There are 2 other tracks that deserve notice. The first is "Wake the Dead"wich shows us a more elaborate side of Motorhead, with its mood and tempo changes. The other one is an interesting and intense ballad " One More F***ing Time.

The mayhem continues until we are faced with the album's gargantuan closer "We are motorhead" , wich did not only kicked my ass as they said they would (see lyrics) but left it lying helplessly smashed on the edge...!

Diferently than most people might think, speed was never the main issue for motorhead. They never cared about how fast they could play. Motorhead was always about attitude and I-N-T-E-N-S-I-T-Y. And intensity is what this album is about. Long Live The Motors. Their best effort since 1916.

5.0 out of 5 stars Metallica- Are you listening?, June 18, 2000

Fast, tight, and loud. Speedburning metal at its best. This is one of Motorhead's top three. Theres no hit here just consistent fast powerful metal. This cd took me by surprise, sounds like they took a big shot of adrenaline when they made this one. This and AC/DC's new one make these new rap rock bands look like an impotent joke.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great new album!, May 29, 2000
This review is from: We Are Motorhead (Audio CD)
Appropriately titled "We Are Motorhead", this is a great studio album of fresh new (and still steaming!) tracks, released in time to celebrate 25 years of the band's earth-shattering career.

This is Motorhead doing what they do best. Playing fast, aggressive, heavy and filthy! Apart from the ballad as the middle song (which is essential to give out exhausted hearts a rest!) every track in this masterpiece just charges through like a truck careering down a hill and mercilessly crushing everything in its path. Guaranteed to blow your speakers and shoot that roof off the top of your house!

A must-have for all fans!

5.0 out of 5 stars My Favorite Motörhead Album, April 11, 2003
This review is from: We Are Motorhead (Audio CD)
This album has to be my favorite Motörhead album so far.
Motörhead just seems to get better and better as time goes on.
All the songs on the album are some of the best Motörhead songs I've ever herd.
As always the guitar and drumming is phenomenal and the lyrics blow me away.
I recommend this album to any Motörhead fan and if you're not a Motörhead head fan I think this is the album that would change your mind. This album kicks ...

5.0 out of 5 stars Better all the time, May 19, 2000

Ever since Lemmy quit with the four-man nonsense, Motorhead have grown progressively mightier. This is Motorhead's strongest record since Bastards. I hope that all the young kids who are listening to Limp Bizkit, Slipnot, etc. will pick up this CD and hear how it should be done. Long live Lemmy. Ditto the Irons.

4.0 out of 5 stars The AC/DC of enduring biker rock, February 14, 2004
This review is from: We Are Motorhead (Audio CD)
Leave it to a band like Motorhead to come up with a seven minute ballad and call it "One More F***ing Time." Actually, this stab at a leather hearted tear jerker is far from the limpid attention getter you'd expect it to be; not only is it staged capably as an epic 70s ballad, but believe it or not Lemmy even acquits himself admirably in the vocal department. Elsewhere the band are up to the usual, churning out that dirty proto-thrash they've been pioneering since the Disco era with varying quality. The trio even playfully rip themselves off with the opening of the title cut, launching into a chord progression suspiciously reminiscent of the amphetamine fueled "Ace of Spades" riff. Like that beat up biker jacket Lemmy's been wearing since he was out of grade school, you get the impression Motorhead's songs have been lived in and experienced before they were put down in the studio, and that's why they can get away with cranking out the same old dirt metal for over twenty years.

5.0 out of 5 stars Their best, November 22, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: We Are Motorhead (Audio CD)
We are Motorhead is easily my favorite Motorhead album. I've been a fan since 1980 and I thought after Orgasmatron they had weakened some but We Are Motorhead is (imho) their best ever. It's lean, mean, fast, loud, and solid, and it shows all the other aging/slowing and new whiny wanna-be metal bands how to do metal right (crude, loud, fast, and did I say loud?). Nobody roars and growls like Lemmy, and to paraphrase him from some years ago: when you play this one loud your neighbors' lawns will die. BTW Orgasmatron is also an outstanding Motorhead album, if you have either you will most likely like the other. Deaf Forever!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Fast Rock and Roll, May 31, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: We Are Motorhead (Audio CD)
Lemmy, as he is known in the rock circuit, has been an influence on many bands who cite Motorhead as being a major influence in their career. With this new CD, it's easy to see why. The CD contains the trademark speedy tunes which Motorhead is famous for such as "See me Burning", "Stay out of Jail", and the title track. Mikkey Dee, drummer since 1992, keeps time with accuracy and force. Phil Campbell's guitar work on the album is the finest I've heard since "Sacrifice". The band as a unit is stronger than ever, and this effort shows that Motorhead will be around for a long time.
