5.0 out of 5 stars The best gift Michael Jackson left us...We Are The World
I'm quite surprised to see that no one has reviewed this PHENOMENAL song!
Michael Jackson truly believed in helping to make a difference and you can really feel the beauty and conviction of this song. Michael Jackson may be one of the most misunderstood superstars, but his truth and compassion are so evident here. Rest in peace, sweet prince...

3.0 out of 5 stars The Freaks are out
The song is a classic 80's tune that goes with Do They Know It's Christmas Time? by Band Aid.

Maybe I don't get it when a grown man gives wine and porn to kids that he is misunderstood. He is a molester that was very demented and he had about one or two good albums. Help me to understand why he is accepted as a normal person, I mean look at a picture of him...

5.0 out of 5 stars I agree!!! What an awesome song from an awesome man!, July 4, 2009

I totally agree! MJ was so misunderstood. Most of Michael's songs were about peace, love, and unity and he truly had a heart for helping others. He helped organize this project and he co-wrote the lyrics. God bless you Michael and all of the others who selflessly participated.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sweet Charity, July 7, 2009

"We are the World" is the anthemic '80s charity song that remains long in the memory. "We are the world,we are its children" is a quintessential feel-good song. Penned by the late Michael Jackson as a benefit for Africa, it was for a good cause--and yes,it's also great music. It's nice to see "We are the world" making a comeback.

5.0 out of 5 stars We're saving our own lives, September 6, 2011
This review is from: We Are The World (MP3 Download)
In first grade, a Leadership Expert visited our school. She had my class join hands in a circle. This was Inclusion, which wasn't racist. Then she asked for a volunteer, who had to stand outside the circle. This was Exclusion, which was the worst problem.

At the end of the day, the whole school gathered in the gym. It was dark until the Expert turned on polychrome DJ party lights. Beams of color light crisscrossed, and reflected off a dangling mirror ball. Every surface and body was speckled and streaked! My hands turned pink, then white, then blue, then yellow, then white.

The expert made a speech, and took out a boom box. She played a song with the words: "We are the world / We are the children." I'd never heard this song, but my classmates knew how it went. Some sang, others just said "Michael Jackson" and giggled. Everyone seemed to know that what was happening was somehow obscene.

But the Expert went on smiling. She didn't know Michael Jackson was dirty. While the other children sang and giggled, I pitied her.

I was on the Emassy staff in Bonn, Germany when I first heard this and thought it was a crusade for "Food For Africa".

4.0 out of 5 stars This Was The World, February 14, 2010
This review is from: We Are The World (MP3 Download)
It has been 25 years since We Are The World showcased a need to give back to those in harms' way and starvation in Africa. While the new version of U.S.A. For Africa's We Are The World has been showcased to give back to those suffering in Haiti from the devistating earthquake, it will never sound as strong as the original rendition. The original version still is as classic for those whom remember the need to give back today, as the need to give back to those then. The classic featuring the late Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, Steve Perry from Journey and Lionel Richie as well as many other greats, still is a distinctive download, that still is as classic for those whom love 80's pop music, as those who've just re-discovered Michael Jackson's gift for giving he had left behind, from his death last June. While the new version is good to give back to those suffering in Haiti, I really suggest you stick with the original.

This is a great DVD and I love it. Michael Jackson was an artist my kids liked in the 80's. It wasn't until his death that I really heard his music and enjoyed it so much. He is a genius with music and such a humanitarian. I started buying many of his DVD's and CD's and this was one of them. I love it. It shows the true humanitarian that Michael Jackson was. May he RIP.
