Only for the die-hard, November 4, 1998

"We Came to Play" is a reasonably-priced collection of ten great Hooters songs. The lineup is as follows: "Day By Day," "All You Zombies," "Graveyard Waltz," "Hard Rockin Summer," "Give the Music Back," "Satellite," "Where Do the Children Go," "Fightin on the Same Side," "Beat Up Guitar" and "Brother Don't You Walk Away."
However, this collection doesn't contain any rarities (if you've already got "Nervous Night," "One Way Home" and "Zig Zag" you already have every song on this album), the cover art isn't anything special (it's the same photo found on the back of the "Zig Zag" album), there is no informative CD booklet (or lyrics sheet or any information whatsoever except for the song titles and composers), and the song doesn't even contain the band's biggest commercial hit "And We Danced."
So, if you're looking for a greatest hits collection, you should probably buy "Hooterization" instead. The only three songs on this album not found on that collection are "Graveyard Waltz," "Hard Rockin Summer" and "Give the Music Back."
However, if you're a die-hard Hooters fan and simply MUST own every single album with their name on it, then go ahead and buy this collection.
The only other people I would recommend this album to are Patty Smyth fans who want to have a copy of "Where Do the Children Go" on CD. After all, it's less expensive than buying "Nervous Night" or "Hooterization."

Not the entire collection, but at last glance this one was really cheap "used", June 25, 2005

There's Too Many "Best Hits Collections" of these guys. At last count there were more collections of Hooter songs than original albums issued. That's just plain WAKED. I suggest buying "zig zag", "Nervous Night" and "One Way Home" via the used venue here on amazon. This way you own ALL of the great music & YOU decide what their best hits are for yourself, don't let some record industry suit do it for you.
