remember when humor went with your metal?!..remember s.o.d, and m.o.d. and groups like that?...Psychostick brings back that genre and feel and does it quite well.I throughly enjoyed the album all the way through, from beer to women to drive thru pranks, these guys cover the best and worst times in life with testosterone fueled humor. 2.0 out of 5 stars Clever bunch of charlatans
Reviewing this album is difficult, because it's a bit like critiquing a clown's fashion sense. What am I supposed to do, belittle his enormous pants, and his stupid bow-tie? He's a clown. He's SUPPOSED to look ridiculous.

Likewise, it feels futile to point out that the music on this album consists largely of rehashed Hatebreed-meets-Sevendust riffs that we've...

This review is from: We Couldn't Think of a Title (Audio CD)
One of the funniest bands I have ever heard and their music ROCKs too! If you enjoy the tasty grooves of Metal mixed with some comedy, pick this up!!! I saw these guys in Cleveland and just out side of Columbus, Ohio on their summer tour and they have a great stage show and hang out with the crowd and talk to everyone! These guys are how musicians should be! Keep it up!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Group of Amazingly Silly and Special Individuals..., April 6, 2007

This review is from: We Couldn't Think of a Title (Audio CD)
Psychostick can be summed up in one word: special. Yeah, I mean "special." There debut album, "We Couldn't Think of a Title" (they really couldn't), features twenty tracks, most of them full songs, others comical interludes that document their trials as they debate between each other as to what the name of the album should be, among other things that you'll just have to listen to for yourself. In order to understand what kind of humor Psychostick utilizes, you'd have to listen to their eighth track, simply titled "Beer!", hands-down the album's single if they were to decide on it. The song is about how good beer is - and that's just about it. "Two Ton Paperweight" is a song about how worthless a man's car is and it is absolute hilarity. Psychostick's first album isn't necessarily radio-friendly, and it's easy to understand after you listen to "Orgasm = Love," a tale detailing a man's interaction with a woman and an explanation on how he defines love. And let me warn you: it's a little explicit. "Throwin' Down" is a hilarious song about a man upset with his high-maintenance girlfriend and "ABCDeath" is simply a hardcore/metal version of the ABC's. Psychostick is a unique group and they are able to blend hard rock and comedy pretty well. If you're looking for the sound of Stone Sour, but with absolutely ridiculous themes, get this CD. You'll nod your head to the rhythm, but crack up laughing with each track.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Primus Of Heavy Metal, February 27, 2008
This review is from: We Couldn't Think of a Title (Audio CD)
Phychostick is made up of four members, and their lyrics are more twords comedy than that of the usal heavy metal scene. They pump out hard riffs of unrelenting metal that just make you want to sing along with the lyrics. A must have if anyone likes Primus but wanted to make it more hardcore!

Psychostick is a band that (as a whole) can't be compared with anyone else. The guitar riffs and jams compare with that of Sevendust, American Headcharge, and Disturbed - while the vocals leave you with a grin on your face. Overall, an amazing CD from one of the most underrated bands in the underground metal scene.

4.0 out of 5 stars Crushing and raw thrash metal with humor with a Nuclear Assault (Out Of Order) feel!!!!, March 6, 2007
A Kid's Review
This review is from: We Couldn't Think of a Title (Audio CD)
Psychostick is a metal band that plays crushing and raw metal and fast. Right away when I first had listened to this album We Couldn't Think Of A Title I immediately drew a MAJOR comparisons to Nuclear Assault's Out Of Order and this it has the humor of Nuclear Assault as well. Pyschostick tend to somewhat remind me of Scatterbrain,Green Jello, and some Infectious Grooves only heavier. This band is talented and can play virtually any music, but thrash metal is their style which is cool with me. Scortal Torment and Two Ton Paper Weight shows how heavy this band plays its thrash metal. This is thrash metal/humor on small record label Rock Ridge Records that keeps the metal torch lite.

4.0 out of 5 stars Funny Metal!!!! Here Comes (Psychostick) Trouble!!!!, February 28, 2007
A Kid's Review
This review is from: We Couldn't Think of a Title (Audio CD)
Psychostick hailing from Phoenix,AZ are a funny/crafty metal band that reminds me of the band Scatterbrain like the reviewer below me wrote. Only though it reminds me more of Scatterbrain's first album Here Comes Trouble which came out in 1990 and TOTALLY for that matter, which is awesome!!!!. Psychostick is the 2000's verison of Scatterbrain respectively. I wonder if they know each other (they must).
On Psychostick's first album We Couldn't Think Of A Title (great concept/marketing dudes) is a blast of some serious metal with so much fun involved with the lyrics. This album is definitely easy to bang your head to and it is recommended metal in times of most bands showing off some sort of powertrip with dark or negative lyrics and that popular rock/metal too. Not this band(s) Psychostick and for that matter Scatterbrain as well. I gave this 4 stars ,because the album is long (not a bad thing) especially the hilarous song Fake My Own Death And Go Platinum. This song could be more true....it makes you wonder. Overall I believe Psychostick are great/tasty leftovers of Scatterbrain and I strongly recommend this for the shear humor with awesomely talented musicians that know how to play metal. I bought Psychostick We Could Think Of A Title at a local record store for $[...]... not a bad price. Its worth it!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Psychostick We Couldn't Think Of A Title = Scatterbrain Scamboogery, February 26, 2007
A Kid's Review
This review is from: We Couldn't Think of a Title (Audio CD)
Psychostick's We Couldn't Think Of A Title TOTALLY reminds of Scatterbrain's Scamboogery as they share the metal roots with hilarious lyrics and both bands are extremely talented group of musicians. Does anyone remember Scatterbrain (90's) or knew of them? Well anyway Psychostick wears that jester hat with bells while proudly banging metal tunes in forms of a jokingly manner. The song Two Ton Paperweight is about a broken down car ,which features some of the best clean vocals on the album. The Jagermeister Love Song and ABCDeath are the two of the most funniest songs on this album. The song Beer which is a great song is very metal like. The lead singer has a wide range of excellence vocal range and though they are funny like Scatterbrain and talented like them too it shows even if bands have humor their talent still reigns, which draws people to like them. To sum it up it is a great balance of funny songs/bandmates + talented musicians = recognition of talent. Strongly recommended especially if like the talented band Scatterbrain.

4.0 out of 5 stars Funny album, with a metal touch!!!, January 16, 2007
This review is from: We Couldn't Think of a Title (Audio CD)
This album is along the lines of Tenacious D, Green Jello, Gwar, Spanker, and Stormtroopers of Death (with less of a hardcore EDGE). For fans of both of those bands, you wil likely like this. This is more of a new metal sound (at times sounding like hatebreed, system of a down, and other times like the above metnioned bands). With short bursting riffs and songs, this album is highlighted by the songs Scrotal Torment, Death Burger, Beer, Prozak Milkshake, and Fake My Own Death and Go Platinum, this band pokes fun at pop cutlure, previous artists and art culture, and cultural taboos. Formed in Pheonix Arizona, in about 2000, this group a kids brings new energy back into comedy music that has lacked for some years now. Pick this up if you are a fan of the above bands, you will dig this.
