5.0 out of 5 stars their best yet, June 10, 2005

If you're reading this, you probably already know what a national treasure the Dirty Dozen are.....not to make them sound "trad" or stodgy though....this is some of the greaziest, bumpinest funk that you'll ever hear. More than any other recording of theirs, this CD really catches the magic of the band's live shows. They concentrate on the groove here....not much "outside playing" and not many deviations from the pulse, which is a good thing when the dancers are dancing and the sweat is pouring. You can hear the crowd get ramped up over and over again as the groove gets more and more intense. From the opener to the closer, the stakes just get higher on this live CD and the band keeps delivering. Hardly any clams from the players, and the feel is ALL there. Can't imagine why this CD is so expensive here, but copies are out there for around $15. This is prime stuff, and well worth the extra trouble to find and buy. If you have one Dirty Dozen CD, this is the one.
