Too preachy, August 29, 2008
This review is from: We Just Have More to Love (Paperback)
Being a plus size girl, I was very excited to read this book. It is a good book, but it was still a little to preachy. I also found fault with the fact that China seemed to service his every need. I wanted to throw the book when she left him a not explaining why she didn't empty his trash. Hell he should be grateful she even bothered to do it. It's obvious she was a good woman, but did she have to be maid too.
I am assuming this is Mr. Brownlee's first crack at this full figured romance and hope next time his heroine is still fat and fab, but next time she has confidence. Nothing wrong with taking care of your man, but she was practically his maid. I didn't like that. And I didn't care for Nee's side of the story when he was telling his best friend Tony what sex with her was like. I don't think a man who is really in love with a woman would be so explicted about thier sex life. It would have worked better with him making those reflections to himself.
At time the book did get preachy, and it seemed to go out of it's way to make all slim woman look bad. Not everyone is trying to conform to s"society's standards" of a woman's body. What about the women out their who are naturally thin?
I have a few friends (I am currently thinking of one in particular at this momment) who is a size 2 and hates it. She wants to look like a Luke Girl and eats all day, unfortunetly 3 kids later and million Snickers bars she's only made it to 4. And she is one of the sweetest caring persons I know. Being a 2 or 4 or 20 doesn't make you a good or bad person just becuase of your size.
I think I would have like this book better if although he meet a nice slim girl, he realized he still loved China better.
Better luck next time Roger Brownlee.

Book Description by the Author, March 20, 2008
This review is from: We Just Have More to Love (Paperback)
"We Just Have More to Love" is a story that focuses on acceptance. Accepting someone for who they are, not how they look. It primarily addresses the size issue when it comes to love.
Is there such a thing as someone being too big to date?
Are people so superficial that they evaluate a potential mate strictly based on their size and not their character?
If someone is willing to accept and love you, just as you are, are willing to do the same?
It also touches on how; sometimes we look for love, only to find it in all the wrong places. Yet, not opening our hearts and minds enough to see, that what we have been seeking has been right up under our noses.
The two main characters go on a journey of self-healing that leads them to conquer the demons that haunt them.
China Symone Peoples a full-figured woman in a small woman's world tackles the disheartening task of accepting her size and getting others to do the same.
Nehemiah Moses Nebo (Nee) normally runs from his responsibility encounters a life-changing event, quickly finds that he no longer has the comfort of heading for the hills when things get hot and heavy.
This story was inspired by and written for full-figured women. Its purpose is reach out and uplift its target audience. In addition, I strongly believe that many full-figured women will be able to relate to China's experiences and gain strength from her struggle.

Love It!!!!!, March 31, 2008
This review is from: We Just Have More to Love (Paperback)
I love this book!!!! This book is real because it deals with issues of thinking that you are not beautful if you are not thin when society will dictate one thing and you have to know who you are inside. I like the fact that the author tackled this issue and I look forward to seeing this up and coming author bring us more books.
