Not bad,
By Brian G "b." (New Jersey) - See all my reviews
This review is from: We Love What Kills Us (Audio CD)
I agree with the above reviewer. Five new songs and five re writes does not constitute an ep. Dishonest to say the least. I bought the album thinking I would be getting a full cd of new songs. I guess my excitement to buy the album distorted my judgement on LOOKING AT THE BACK OF THE CD. Now, on to the five new songs; they are some of the best in the alternative genre. Catchy lyrics and songs. Had me singing along to them after a few listens. All in all, a fun album but a bit misconceiving, which merits a three star review.

EP disguised as an LP,
This review is from: We Love What Kills Us (Audio CD)
I love The Bangkok Five, however I can't help but feel a little disappointed with this album. It's not an LP and that is the main issue. There are only 5 songs on this CD with tracks 6-10 being the Spanish language versions of the first 5. Don't get me wrong, the 5 songs will rock your damn face off, but rerecording Spanish versions of the tracks seem unnecessary and a cheap way to flesh out the album. If this were priced like an EP - between $8 and $10 - it would have received 5 stars.

Buy This Record or Kill Yourself!,
By Ricky Hallo (Philadelphia, PA) - See all my reviews

A lot of what those hipster-garage-punkrock bands aim for but miss, Bangkok blows to smithereens. These guys are real and raw with no gimmicks or shticks - the Bangkok Five knows what they are doing and they do it so well.If you like The Strokes or The White Stripes but wish they gave you a little extra more, definitely take a listen to We Love What Kills Us. It'll stay with you for months to come.
