Not his most important work.,
This review is from: We Meet (Paperback)
This is a new book, and it's great to see at least some kind of marginal renewed interest in Patchen's work. But the pieces included are mostly fantastical and farcical. They are, of course, wonderful, because Patchen is one of the best and most tragically overlooked figures in American letters, but for someone unfamiliar with him, I would definitely suggest reading his war poetry first. It is dark and angry and more powerful than just about anything else you could put on a page.

Poetry of a higher standard,

I truly love Kenneth Patchen and his poetry. It's modern, insightful, and beautiful. I also love that Devandra Banhart wrote the preface to this book. I think it's great Patchen included some of his own artwork into the book; and good, semi-abstract artwork at that. I would recommend this book for anyone who loves good poetry along the lines of Bukowski.

Fast service, high quality book. Great find, including some books I'd not yet read, plus several I'd read and enjoyed. A must see for Patchen fans !
