A wonderfully written book by Rabbi Sherre Hirsh. Her tone warm, insightful and wise; I would highly recommend this book to anyone. Has brought clarity to things I've questioned relative to my journey through life. Rabbi Hirsch's personal references and guidance is wonderfully uplifting.

I found Rabbi Hirsch's book, We Plan, God Laughs, warm, funny and inspirational. I've read numerous self-help books, but this one was special. Rabbi Hirsch's very human, very jewish, voice came through loud and clear and gave the book a personal reach that most of these types of books don't benefit from. I'm not jewish, but my niece has always had a deep connection to her jewish roots through her paternal grandparents. So, I sent the book to her after reading it. I have to say it transformed her life and, whether she was just ready for this type of exploration or not, I believe the book gave her the impetus she needed. After reading it in almost a single sitting, she ended up contacting her father and a brother and sister she hadn't spoken to in many years. It freed her from any residual anger she may have had over whatever problems had surfaced lo, those many years ago. I'd say helping even one person in such a manner deserves a five star rating for this book.

Sherre Hirsch has written a wonderful, easy to read treasure that is funny and moving. This book made me feel like I was not alone in thinking that life is not turning out like I had planned. And maybe that is a good thing. She has inspired me to dream bigger that I could have ever imagined. Everyone should read this!

This great book will have you asking: "Who is this Goddess of Wisdom and where has she been all my life?"

A touching, clever, genuinely helpful work that should be read by anyone in need of a little perspective and support. Rabbi Hirsch's "rubber chicken trick" is worth the price of admission alone - and how often do you hear THAT about a Rabbi?

A female rabbi as author ought to be enough reason alone to make you want to buy this book. But Sherre is the real deal, a genuinely loving and upbeat person who has a keen insight into life and faith... and her great sense of humor is icing on the cake. I'm a Christian Protestant, but if I lived in her city I'd be tempted to convert, just to attend her services!

We Plan, God Laughs is one of the easiest paths to inspiration you'll find. Through humorous and touching personal anecdotes, along with her unique way of presenting Biblical stories and lessons in an extremely accessible, real-person way, Rabbi Hirsch has written a guide book that makes living the life you want seem downright attainable.

Before I read this book, I hoped it would 'elevate' me up to the level of my dreams, inspire me enough to achieve them. What I got out of this book was even better - it brought my dreams to me. It reminded me that everything I wish for exists within reality (along with a few things I didn't wished for), and that I, even on my most chaotic days, and capable of great things. I highly recommend cozying up on the couch, and getting some 'fresh air' by reading this book.

Sherre Hirsch has an incredible gift for writing as if she is talking to you personally. Her words exude warmth, compassion, inspiration and depth. Her messages are clear and even, never feeling preachy. Sherre offers many gems of wisdom and truths, delivered with much knowledge and great insight into people and life.

This is a great book! It's smart and accessible and clearly lays out some easy suggestions for improving your life. Also included are stories from this Rabbi's personal life that are both inspiring and funny - she has a great sense of humor for a "woman of the cloth!"

This one's a keeper.
