quoted from the surviving MEN who were there., August 29, 2001

This review is from: We Rode With Quantrill (Paperback)
this is a great book with many accounts from the survivors of quantrills raiders. it basically isnt watered down and it didnt make me feel as if Castel was lurking in the pages cryin " thats not true, that didnt happen either.. mckorkle lied there too" etc. I enjoyed the authors brief introduction and i appreciated some of the insight at the end. the majority of this work was well documented accounts from the men who were there, not the pompous arrogant wanna-be's who tried to re-write history to slander and criticize quantrill and his guerrillas.

Quantrill Riders, October 30, 2000

This review is from: We Rode With Quantrill (Paperback)
This book seems to be well written. It does have limitation that the title leads you to believe. It does not list all people who rode with Quantrill. This book deals only with the most famous of the riders and the riders that were the closest to him. I feel there were more people that rode with him and that there should have been an appendix that showed other riders that rode with him, even if only on a limited basis and that was not included in this book. I believe he should have included the book that he co wrote called "Branded as Rebels" to increase the authintisity of the title.
