5.0 out of 5 stars soundtracks for souls, July 27, 2001
This review is from: We Sing Loud Sing Soft Tonight (Audio CD)
these young baltimorian fellows really have something. if you guys read this--may you know i have the highest regard for your work. so keep it up--and try to come out to LA sometime--to liven up the lame indie scene out here. intricate melodies--subtle variations--minimal concise complete--hauntingly simple singing--hauntingly simple lyrics--but emergent from such simplistics is a kinda complexity rarely achieved by musical groups. brief analogy-- the brain-- a massive web of simple on-and-off firing nuerons-- emergent from such simplistics-- profound complexity-- personality--soul--languague-- see godel, escher, bach by hofstader for further analogy. so BUY this record---spin it o'er and o'er and o'er again. you will not regret it.
