5.0 out of 5 stars Meet the new Boss!! Same as the old Boss!! January 20, 2012
By S James
Only Bruce can throw out some seemingly simplistic lyrics to a driving, rocking beat and in 3 minutes and 54 seconds, say so much about the state of our country only to have it misunderstood as some patriotic anthem, ala Born in the USA. No wonder he is and will always be The Boss!! You can almost hear Clarence there at the end. His spirit is definitely present! I can't wait to hear the rest of this album! My three year old grandson loves it too. He kept starting it over! We rocked it hard about six times until Papa ran out of gas! Bruuuuuuuuuuce!!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars We Take Care Of Our Own January 19, 2012
By ChadA
This newest song that I will try my very best to wear completely out is probably the most sonically pleasing song Bruce has put out since the outtake "30 Days Out" in 1992. The music is melodic, vibrant, and driving. I'm very pleased Bruce has stepped back into driving rock and roll and away from the reflective, let's grow old together ballads of the last record. As with any Bruce song from hear onward, what a loss that the Big Man couldn't add his touch to it. But, we go on forward!

4.0 out of 5 stars Taking Care Of Bruce January 19, 2012
It has beena bit rough to listen to Bruce Springsteen, since the tragic death last year of Clarence Clemons, his friend and E Street Band musician. Yet, Bruce and the band had the courage to soldier on and make new music. We Take Care Of Our Own, Bruce's lastest song, from his upcoming record Wrecking Ball isn't a bad song. While it does have the musicianship of The E Street Band strongly in the soul of the song, it could've brought out a bit more vocally from Bruce himself. Still, it is honestly a better song than what is playing on radio right now, and I hope there is a bit more to rock on from Bruce, when his record comes alive in March.

Every song is at least very good. I love the spiritual feel of the entire album. The re-dos of wrecking ball and land of hope and dreams are even beter than the live versions. Overall much better than I hoped for.

As a fan of Springsteen's music, I do have a tendency to enjoy all of his music, however in the past few cds even I have only had a few songs that I've enjoyed whole-heartedly. This cd brings me back to the Rising and before when all of the songs were magical and awesome! Great new sounds blending with traditional Springsteen lyrical styles and imagery are sure to make this a well liked album for all of his fans! Also, if you are not a Springsteen fan or even if you are, and you haven't seen this man and his band perform live... go and check out last Friday's Jimmy Fallon. His concerts are legendaryly long and always rockin' with amazing performances and emotions from both the band and the audience. You've not lived until you've seen this man live! So buy this album, buy all of his albums, and then buy yourself a ticket to see Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band!

4.0 out of 5 stars Still waiting for a Rock N Roll Record January 23, 2012
I love Bruce, but I'd really like a rock n roll record, He hasnt really made a rock n roll record since
Born In The USA. This is pop music, and it's an enojoyable track(more so than a great song) but I support my boy
on his mission to make relavent music.

On Radio Nowhere he wrote "I want a thousand guitars. I want pounding drums" So Do I Bruce!

It's different, it's cool, but it aint rock n roll.

Maybe the rest of the album will surprise me.

It's still better than most of what u hear on the radio today though!

1.0 out of 5 stars Are you kidding? February 13, 2012
This song is really weak. It falls into the repetive framing of songs , which is familiar to all of his newere work. Just keep repeating the same phrase again and again.
This could be the time for Bruce to cash in his chips.

5.0 out of 5 stars This promises to be a great album January 19, 2012
Reading the lyrics, the title song has some ambiguity in its words - 'we take care of our own'. Is this a reference to Bush and his cronies? bankers and bean counters? Troops? or the working/not working man struggling to get by on a daily basis who looks to family for support?

I'm looking forward to hearing this life and can picture Bruce and Steve sharing the mic on the refrain. It would fit into a three/four song mix with Last to Die/The Rising/Badlands (and of course many others).

Rock on Bruce!
