I love this single and it's so true in every aspect. This ObamaCare health bill is so bad that Harry Reid is buying off members of the Democrat party in the Senate in order to secure 60 Democrat votes. What in the world does that say about the content's of the bill or the faith that Democrats have in it when you have the Majority Leader buying off people within his own party. It tells me that the bill is a gigantic disaster and if it passes there's going to be a lot of Senators and other state Governments angry that some states are being exempt from paying. In case nobody knows, in exchange for their votes, the states that several Democrat Senators represent are exempt from paying for the health care bill should it pass. What this means is other state's, taxpayer's of course, will have to pay even higher taxes to make up for states who are exempt. Furthermore, if it passes, the benefits won't even kick in until 2013 or 2014 if that and then when it's all said and done at least 20 to 25 million people will still be without insurance due to the murky language that's written in parts of the bill that have been read. So, this song is right on the money and yes, Senators who support ObamaCare may giggle and laugh now but they won't be once the voting public get their say in the mid-term elections in 2010...after months of higher taxes and other intrusions become rather annoying.

Ray Stevens is a medicoare singer and rightwinger who (like many on the far right) make himself out as more patriotic and pro-American then libs. This is a common rightwing tactic. If you disagree with them on health care or gay rights or any issue under the sun you are a commie pinko who hates America. We the people by the way (the title of his song) voted for Barack Obama for president. So, maybe Ray, you really don't represent America after all.
