5.0 out of 5 stars Truly Magnificent!
Thank you Irish Tenors for making this spectacular album. I downloaded and listened to it on Kazaa (forgive me Father for I have sinned) but will be buying the real CD ASAP. It is worth paying for with real money. This is something really special. The three Irishmen sing with heart. They sing with soul. They sing with might.

I especially liked the "Battle...

3.0 out of 5 stars Great fun
This CD is fun and full of energy. It will also introduce you to new Christmas music such as "The Battle Hymn of the Republic." If you generally like classical tenors, this is a hoot - but get it on sale.

I especially liked the "Battle Hymn of the Republic" and "God Bless America" tracks included at the end. Very powerful renditions and they brought a tear to my eye while listening to them (not joking). Thank you Three Irish Tenors for including these songs in the album during these dark times when it is so fasionable to hate America.

This Canadian loves America and The Three Irish Tenors.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Chrismas Album!, October 22, 2003

This is a wonderful album. I saw the Irish Tenors sing this program live in concert over a year ago, and was stunned at the beauty of the performances, especially the 3 duets. The album, recorded in studio is extremely well-done. It has a Celtic flavor, but includes classical pieces, popular songs, and American national-theme songs as well. Anthony's Lord's Prayer is breath-taking; Ronan's "Mary's Boy Child" has a fun, Jamaican beat; Finbar's Mille Cherubini in Coro is spell-binding. The songs that the all 3 do together are a lot of fun to listen to.
I think the best song on the album has to be Finbar and Anthony's "Pie Jesu" duet. I have no words to express how beautifully it's done. You will not be disappointed with this album. These are 3 of the best tenors in the world today.

Vocally they are unmatched in this genre.

I notice they are signed to a new label Razor and Tie, I like the name,They seem to be doing a fantastic job in getting the product out there to the public with plenty of tv apperances and add campaigns, good job folk's

This is a lovely CD to put you in the spirit of the holiday season. The Irish Tenors provide a unique take on the old classics and their rich voices will bring your enjoyment to the next level. Unlike some other reviewers, I personally could do without the patriotic songs at the end. I am a proud American who enjoys songs like these. But on my Christmas CDs, I'd prefer to have just Christmas music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Again, GLORIOUS!!!!!, December 2, 2003

This is probably the second time I have rated this album, but there is no way one can express the joyful sounds of The Tenor's voices in only one shot. I can't say that only one of them is the best. That would not be true because anyone who listens with their heart can only hear the most beautiful sounds in this lifetime. Finbar, Anthony and Ronan are the TENORS and they are the greatest. Of course, it is wonderful when I listen to each one's solo, but the ultimate thrill is when they come together as a trio.!!!
I have every Tape, CD, DVD, and Video they have made and I'm looking forward to the next one.. Hopefully I won't have to go from Toronto to Vancouver to buy it at their next concert.
Forever their # 1 fan,,,,Joan

5.0 out of 5 stars An Irish Tenors Christmas, December 5, 2008
By
This review is from: We Three Kings (Audio CD)
It's the Irish Tenors, what more do you need to know? It is definitely worth the money. This is a good collection of songs. I am glad they didn't waste their talents on songs like "Frosty the Snowman". Some one complained about a few non-Christmas songs. Frankly with all the "hate America" out there I am glad the Irish Tenors are different. Good job guys!

As for the Southerner who disliked the inclusion of "Battle Hymn of the Republic", I am glad they did include it. It has always been one of my favorite American songs. I am one Southerner who celebrates American songs and tradition.

4.0 out of 5 stars What has Christmas to do with the Civil War?, December 14, 2007
By
This review is from: We Three Kings (Audio CD)
As an avid fan of the Irish Tenors I thoroughly enjoyed this CD until the last three songs. While I appreciate the Irish Tenors showing their respect for this country and their American fans by recording "God Bless America" etc., I fail to understand what such songs are doing on a Christmas CD. I am especially surprised by the inclusion of "Battle Hymn of the Republic." This song was a marching melody for the Union Army during the civil war and I think it shows a naive misunderstanding of history to include that track on this CD. What has Christmas to do with the Civil War? The tenors need to realize they don't have to include American songs in order to sell to American citizens. Stop catering.

3.0 out of 5 stars Somewhat disappointing, October 22, 2007
By
This review is from: We Three Kings (Audio CD)
I love these Irish tenors, and am so happy to hear Finbar Wright replacing John McDermott..BUT - - am disappointed in this CD, mainly in the balance of tone. Sometimes the one carrying the melody is overpowered by the other two, and the orchestra on occasion drowns out the voices. Likely a problem not addressed by the engineer. The voices are gorgeous, though, as usual. My favorites on the CD are the solos and duets. "O Holy Night" is quite stirring. I have the disk on as I write this, and actually, I like it better the 2nd time than the first, but I won't want to play it very often, in contrast to the original trio on video. That one I like to play over & over. IMHO, "How Great Thou Art" is rather pedantic; very little feeling in the rendition by Finbar. In contrast, Anthony does a great job with "The Lord's Prayer." Makes you want to cry.

In these days when so many people are finding fault with America for so many things, it does my heart good to hear the Irish Tenors choose to sing "America the Beautiful"!

The Irish tenors are usually great--but this is fabulous! Has become one of my favorite Christmas CD's ever. Great selection, magnificent orchestration and arrangements, and, of course, spectacular voices! Overall, I'd say this is a must-have for Christmas music lovers.
