I do like Bon Jovi, but this is same-old... Nothing fresh, new, or exciting.
With a title called "We Weren't Born to Follow" - they sure aren't leading...
I was hoping for more.

Update 11/17/09: I just watched Bon Jovi on "Inside the Actors Studio" with James Lipton on Bravo. They opened with "We Weren't Born to Follow" - in a stripped down acoustic version that was very moving (they said it's the first time they've played it live). They also played a few of their classics - all acoustic, and it was a very enjoyable interview, so if you like Bon Jovi, look for repeats - you'll love it!

I'm still not changing my rating or what I said about this album version...

I got this MP3 the week it came out and it was free. I didn't much care for all the songs on the album, so I downloaded the free single and have it quite a few homemade CDs now...

I love this song! I fell in love with it watching TBS (it's the song they used to preview the start of baseball season) and once i saw that it was the free download on Amazon I hopped on that train immediately. If it wasn't a free download, I would still purchase this song.

When it has came down to Bon Jovi, they honestly haven't delivering as the band they have shown in strength from their 80's popularity. Nevertheless, they still keep trying to deliver strong songs. Unfortunately, that honestly isn't completely the case with their latest single, We Weren't Born To Follow, the first single from their latest album, The Circle, isn't as striking as was with their earlier power ballads like Livin' On A Prayer, and It's My Life. I just didn't feel the unique chemistry that Bon Jovi had shown for their 25 years of joyous success. Honestly for Jon Bon Jovi and crew, they need to deliver a much more potent song that can drive the crowds home. Hopefully, their next single can be much more mind-blowing, and something that will follow more with a high note.

If you are a Jon Bon Jovi fan or not you will like this song. I am not a longtime Jon Bon Jovi fan, but loved Lost Highway...this song seems more like their older material

At a cost of 00.00 this was a bargain but now that's changed and I wouldn't pay .99 for it. Bon Jovi are using a formula, stale as it is, that's been working for 20+ years so why change now? "We Weren't Born To Follow"? Really? How bout trying something new musically instead of chasing your own tails?
