5.0 out of 5 stars Wanna Be RICH??? What's it worth to ya?, August 11, 2006
This review is from: Wealth Addiction (Mass Market Paperback)
i don't know WHY this book hasn't been in print all these years? do we NOT want to know how foolish we are in this money culture...

how much [over]weight, drugs, debt, loneliness, misery do we Americans have to live through before we decide We Are Doing It Wrong!!!

i first read this book when it came out, have bought it again and again, as i keep loaning mine out to wealth addicts who don't return it!

FULL of insights, wisdom - i can't imagine having gone through adulthood without understanding what this book explained to me at age 30!

That money is the circulatory system of a society...

That being wealthy makes you Head Janitor, Caretaker of Your STUFF [warren buffett talks about this - the 2nd richest man lives in the same 4 bedroom house he bought in the late 1950s, drives a 7 year old car, eats at Dairy Queen, owns a DELL laptop which he plays bridge on the internet with people around the world from omaha...

the 2nd Richest Man In The World says there are only 2 things different about him from the rest of us:

he wears better suits - that look cheap on him, he says!
he travels better - by private plane...

WORTH thinking about, no??? especially since he just turned over his endowment to Bill Gates, who has to live behind gates and is also trying to give HIS money away as fast and furiously and prudently as possible...

anyway, this book is worth $90... split the cost with 8 other friends... then pass it on, donate it to the library...

this book enlightened my 30s, 40s and 50s... and i am better for having read it and reread it several times throughout...

a rich friend quit her Big Bucks job for a more fulfilling one... and said it was fine... she just took a zero off everything she did before

if she paid $500 for a dress, she now paid $50
if she spent $100 on dinner out, she now paid $10...

and she was still able to do EVERYthing she did when she was rich - just at a different scale, that was just as satisfying in a different way...

food for thought...
