Editorial Reviews

Review

More and more attorneys and other advisors have been talking in recent years about 'ethical' wills, written or recorded documents that permit parents and grandparents to pass on their life stories and learning to their descendants. Susan Turnbull has created a very attractive and usable guidebook to assist the creation of such personal legacies. --Elder Law attorney Harry Margolis, "Recommended Reading," Wall Street Journal, January 23, 2006

As a personal historian, I was looking for a book that would provide specific information regarding Ethical Wills in a format that was informational and easy to use. What a pleasant surprise it was to discover The Wealth of Your Life! The book itself is visually appealing (in a manner that draws you from one page to the next) and well laid out (again, in a manner that makes it easy to move from one section to the next). Susan's step-by-step process makes writing an Ethical Will an engaging process of truly understanding what values you want to pass to the next generations...and why. --Rae Hight, RN, MA, Personal Historian. Port Orchard, WA

Turnbull's insightful and practical book provides families a major contribution on the important work of ethical wills. --Charles Collier, Harvard University, November 22, 2005

5.0 out of 5 stars A Powerful Spiritual and Personal Resource, April 3, 2006
This review is from: The Wealth of Your Life: A Step-by-Step Guide for Creating Your Ethical Will (Spiral-bound)
Susan Turnbull has created a powerful guide that can help anyone discover the meaning within their life. To write an Ethical Will is to embark on a journey into the heart of what makes us uniquely human. The gifts we name and claim in the process are deeply spiritual, and ensure that what we have lived, loved, and learned will reach into days far beyond our knowing. People of any faith will find much guidance in this clear and concise guide to expressing the things in life that matter most.

--Rev. Tim Kutzmark, Minister, Unitarian Universalist Church of Reading, MA

I have wanted to write an ethical will for my children but have not felt I had any idea where to start. This book has made it very easy to both organize my thoughts and then put them in writing with simple guidelines. The book itself is beautiful enough that if I do nothing else than put my thoughts on paper, like a journal, I will have accomplished my goal. A great find!

5.0 out of 5 stars Look into this NOW -- you won't regret it!, January 31, 2006
This review is from: The Wealth of Your Life: A Step-by-Step Guide for Creating Your Ethical Will (Spiral-bound)
It's one of those things you tend to put off until tomorrow, but . . . this has such a beautiful presentation and is so user-friendly that it will help you get started today. I bought one for my mother and one for myself and treat it as a work in progress. It's great to have a place to put your thoughts and to get organized and started on a meaningful and important project. Your kids will really appreciate it one day, too.
