Seriously folks I am all about releasing cd's from bands that never got signed or if they did never got released thanks to the Nirvana flu that hit the music industry back in the '90's. Eonian Records and Suncity Records have done a great job of finding these rare gems. This release from Sgt. Roxx comes from Eonian and it does what the name claims.... Rocks. These guys hail from Chicago ( my home town) and they kicked some ASS live. These tunes have been remastered and polished and they sound great today. I highly recommend you pay the price of admission for this piece of rock history. You can thank me later.

Sgt. Roxx was a band out of Chicago in the early 90's right into the teeth of the grunge movement. Roxx had a huge following being one of the few glam bands out of the mideast that was finding success in the business. There is alot of talent here from
vocals all the way through the band. One good thing about Roxx was that they were doing pretty much their own thing and not really
following the patterns of any big namme band so their sound was and is still a welcome addition to the scene at the time.
There is a ton of music here ( 19 songs ) which makes for a long listen into what Roxx was doing and what they were about. I would call it smooth......there are some great songs here, some ballads of course, and some good rockers as well. Roxx could certainly play and this disc is alot better than some of the other bands who's contracts were dropped and cds are being re-released for our present day listening pleasure. I know I have a varied music interest from the late 60's thru the great 70s of course the glam , big hair , some grunge and of course all of the great metal stuff, and I can sit and listen to Roxx and throughly enjoy it, because it is good stuff. So if your into music and looking for something new for your ears I would say that Roxx could live in your player for a while and then again.
