"The Weapon Of Prayer" by EM Bounds focuses on the importance God sets on prayer and His promise to bless prayer-released blessing.

Among the points covered include:

1. Prayer is more important than religious activity.
2. Prayer puts God's works in God's hands and keeps it there.
3. Education alone does not have the power to do God's work.
4. There is a great need for people carry God with them into the secular affairs of life.
5. Unbelief and prayerlessness go together.
6. Christ could do nothing apart from prayer.
7. Many examples in the Bible show that God responds to the prayer of His people.
8. In doing God's work there is no substitute for praying.

A great read for someone who needs inspiration on the importance of prayer in the Christian life.

Highly recommended.

This book is about how prayer is our weapon against the enemy.

Prayer is so important to God and to man. God helps us through everything when we pray.

Recommend for all that need a better understanding of why we need to pray.

I liked this book for two reasons. One is that the focus was on prayer as a spiritual weapon and, two, because the author was thoughtful and careful not to add anything to the Word of God. The author writes with intensity and enthusiasms about the subject of prayer and eventually you catch his "fire". It is a classic that is worth reading and sharing with others.

Early in my Christian life I was provided a reading list, similarly seen in major corporations and government agencies today. One of the great established authors on this list covered the subject of prayer. Yes, it was E.M. Bounds, and his classic 19th Century Power Through Prayer. Little did I know until recently that this book with it's Civil War battlefield-proven thoughts on the subject had companions. I had even downloaded a couple of them onto my blackberry. And yet, that was not enough. I had to have my own paper copy, and Kindle copy of this particular writing. Words that could be read not only during travel, but in the quiet of my own home with marker and journal.

It is in this writing that Chaplain Bounds goes beyond his traditional thesis of the Holy Spirit working through great men of prayer, to the more intimate explanation, necessity, and rallying, obviously through personal experience, of the depths and the realities of prayer. You can almost sense the smoke of battle on him as you read, like seeing the glory of God surrounding Moses from being in His presence.

Although a challenging read, as are most writings from the centuries beyond that require an adjustment to reading speed, the resulting navigation and reward are both encouraging and desiring, toward our own use of The Weapon of Prayer.

THIS BOOK WAS WRITTEN IN A SOMEWHAT DIFFICULT STYLE, BUT IT IS READABLE AND HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR ITS RICH AND INSPIRING CONTENT. THE AUTHOR IS SOLID IN HIS UNDERSTANDING OF THE BIBLE AND THE PRAYER LIFE OF JESUS CHRIST. I WAS ENCOURAGED AFTER I READ THIS BOOK TO PURSUE PRAYER IN WAYS I HADN'T CONSIDERED BEFORE. AN EXCELLENT BOOK IF YOU CAN ADJUST TO THE WRITING STYLE.

Prayer is essential--to the individual and the church. E.M. Bounds inspires you to be more diligent about your praying. Those already deeply involved in prayer will truly appreciate this book. Good gift for ministers.

E. M. Bounds is the best author on prayer I have read. This is a must-read for all who are interested in deepening their prayer life

I always hate doing this to my own brethren but I couldn't even get through the first chapter. Poorly written and confusing.
