5.0 out of 5 stars A Real Page Turner, April 21, 2011

I'm picky on what I read, most of the stuff I start out reading doesn't get finished but this wasn't one of them. The Weaponer is a great combination of the Old West and zombie genres. If Mr Brown were to write a sequel, I'd be more than happy to buy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars My Kind Of Western, December 28, 2011
Another awesome read by Eric S Brown. Non stop action from beginning to end. If you like your westerns with some "bite" then you should download this book. You won't be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not a Zane Western for sure!, November 3, 2011

Eric S. Brown's The Weaponer mixed the Western and the Zombies styles with a flare that made you think 'What if'. The story was very easy to follow and the creative uses for technology keep you guessing. You feel that you are there with the characters on a personal level. This story has Zombies for sure, but they aren't in the led role. They play a very important back ground for the the story.
Again Eric has again come up with a unique blender of a story that most wouldn't think of or dare trying to putting together.
(Joe McKinney does the forward of this story and provided a detailed and informative insight on how original this story is.)
I can only say one thing, I would love to read more of this type of story.

LOVED IT. Eric S. Brown deserves so much credit for mixing horror with a western. The details were perfect and his easy reading style allows you to visualize every detail. This book however is not limited to western fans as he sprinkles modern artifacts of the current world in the most interesting ways that would interest scifi fans as well. Once again Eric S. Brown has put out another outstanding achievment for horror fans to feast on. This is definately on my must read list.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic, March 17, 2011
This review is from: The Weaponer (Coscom Entertainment Monster Novella Series) (Paperback)
I am a fan of Mr. Brown and The Weaponer did not disappoint. In fact, it surprised me. Zombies, yes they are in here, but a new enemy took up the pages, a fierce and vicious group of . . . well i dont want to give that away. The Weaponer isnt just a zombie tale, its a western set in the future and a horror novel too. I cant say enough about this book. It's different, and at the same time, gives you what you want from an Eric S. Brown tale.

5.0 out of 5 stars zombie western, January 31, 2011

This review is from: The Weaponer (Coscom Entertainment Monster Novella Series) (Paperback)
Generations after the world fell to zombies Hyattsburg is a safe haven behind a wall that keeps the zombies at bay. What's left of the United States has reverted back to the life and technology of the Old West and the zombies control everything else. One morning a family is found slaughtered and Alan, the last Weaponer is called upon to help find out who or what attacked the family. What Alan and the rest of the posse discover is worse than they could have imagined.

Eric S. Brown has taken zombies and added something extra--cannibals. That's right it's not just the zombies who are looking for food. THE WEAPONER is a romp through a future that is much like the Old West but it includes blood, guts and plenty of feasting on flesh. There are reminders of the old society, before the apocalypse in the form of weapons and some electricity as well as references to the military but the resources left to the few survivors once all hell breaks loose are no match for what's to come. It is a quick read full of action that doesn't let up. There are also a few surprises in store. Eric S. Brown has proven yet again that he is an author at the top of the zombie sub-genre.
