5.0 out of 5 stars thinking (and playing) outside the box...
Hayseed/Dixie shows no reverence to anything (except maybe a cold beer). Who else would offer "(Hand Me Down My) Walking Cane" followed by "Paint It Black"? These guys are definitely tongue-in-cheek (makes it tough to sing), but they're very serious about the quality of their music. 2.0 out of 5 stars Not their best effort.
I ordered this because we have enjoyed Hayseed Dixie, but this is not their best effort. It seemed forced. Some of the tracks were fun, but it was really hard to get through the whole CD....definitly not one to replay over and over...

These guys are definitely tongue-in-cheek (makes it tough to sing), but they're very serious about the quality of their music. All four are outstanding pickers: John Wheeler on guitar & fiddle, Jake Byers on bass, Dale Reno on mandolin, and Don Wayne Reno on banjo. Dale and Don Wayne are the sons of bluegrass legend Don Reno (the man who co-authored "Duelin' Banjo"). Dale is a monster mandolin player and Don Wayne is, quite simply, one of the best banjo pickers on the planet.
