5.0 out of 5 stars fun, fun, fun
I loved this happy little book. It's a perfect antidote to a gloomy day at work. I won't be doing all 151 suggestions but there are several that I'm definitely going to try.
Everything about the book says quality from the clever cover and and design to the glossy pages. This is a keeper---a book you'll come back to again and again like an old friend.

1.0 out of 5 stars Oh boy, this is a bad one.
I love books that give tips on how to make life more fun and enjoyable. I've been wanting to purchase this book for a while, but could never pull the trigger. Luckily, I found it for a $1 at a book sale. Even at that price, I'm not sure I got my money's worth. The best tip is in the title, then it all goes downhill from there. The author was apparently trying to...

5.0 out of 5 stars Let The Pampering Begin!, February 6, 2004

This review is from: Wear More Cashmere: 151 Luxurious Ways to Pamper Your Inner Princess (Hardcover)
I enjoyed most everything about this book, starting with the clever cover design which contains a "pop-out" insert which reveals below it --what else?-- a cashmere sweater! Cute, and an enjoyable bit of sensory pampering right off the bat.

I found myself agreeing with author Jill Sanders that being a princess is NOT about "being some helpless thing who can't turn on a light switch", but rather, it's about being a woman who knows she DESERVES to feel special and well-cared for.

I didn't try all the tips, but the inexpensive ones I did sample had me thinking "Why haven't I done this before?!"

This book is a fun escape for you, or for a friend, and a good way to remind yourself to treat yourself well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Read, October 16, 2003
This review is from: Wear More Cashmere: 151 Luxurious Ways to Pamper Your Inner Princess (Hardcover)
I loved this little book. It was full of fun tips which I have marked for future use. I am pairing this along with a cashmere scarf as the answer to my Christmas gift to all my female friends. Great advice and plenty of ideas that put this 60 hour a week manager back in touch with her feminine side. Now, I am just waiting for my mules to be delivered.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cashmere for the soul !, March 8, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Wear More Cashmere: 151 Luxurious Ways to Pamper Your Inner Princess (Hardcover)
This is a wonderful little gem of a book! Because it's a collection of tips, it's great to read in stolen moments of solitude - even 5-10 minutes at a time - although the author's style is so engaging, it's hard to put it down. I'm not one to consider myself a princess, but I loved the tips for making an ordinary life more exotic and fun. No matter who you are, or what your style is, you'll find ideas you can use. Don't overlook this book as fluff because of it's title - it's a great find and so cleverly presented that it's also the perfect 'signature gift'.

5.0 out of 5 stars A delight!!!, February 1, 2004

Great book and loads of fun. Has a lot of practical ideas to pamper yourself in this hectic world. Some of them are a little pretentious (buy a vintage mercedes to tool around in; name your house) - but hey, if you know it's pretentious and do it anyway - why not? Gotta go - my hot bath and champagne await!

5.0 out of 5 stars Thank you, "Gin"!, August 20, 2003

This review is from: Wear More Cashmere: 151 Luxurious Ways to Pamper Your Inner Princess (Hardcover)
This was a GREAT book. It had all kinds of little ways to pamper yourself. From such simple things as putting seashells from your last vacation in your bathroom as a sweet reminder to recipes and even to how to have a home spa day with only 4 items from a grocery store. There are a lot of great suggestions, and I recommend this book to anyone who's inner princess needs a bit of pampering.

4.0 out of 5 stars Bring some elegance into your life!, August 15, 2005
This review is from: Wear More Cashmere: 151 Luxurious Ways to Pamper Your Inner Princess (Hardcover)
The older I get the more I try to infuse more elegance into my life...for me that used to be things like making the bed EVERY morning and not eating off paper plates...until I read this book. I have adopted one of the mantras that "Gin" discusses...What Would Jackie (meaning Jackie O) Do? It's amazing how much better life becomes when you pick up around the house right away because really, would Jackie leave old newspapers lying around? NEVER!! And neither will you after reading this book! The book is very much an eye-opener for those of us who need someone to point out what we could do much better with only a little extra effort.

I love this book. Jennifer Sanders gives great quippy advice on how to turn little things into big fat luxuries. We all need it in today's crazy world. Here's to someone who knows how to indulge and teach the rest of us. A great gift for girlfriends, wives, etc.

Another Jennifer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Buying My Second Copy, February 20, 2006

I've read it and reread it half a dozen times. My niece wanted to borrow it, so I gave her my copy, and here I am back, buying another copy. What's so good about it? Jennifer Sander has dozens and dozens of little tips that will make you feel good about yourself. As your spirits lift, you'll find that you have more energy to take on your day, and for that matter, more energy to take on your life. I just love this book.

Luckily, I found it for a $1 at a book sale. Even at that price, I'm not sure I got my money's worth. The best tip is in the title, then it all goes downhill from there. The author was apparently trying to mimic Diana Vreeland's style in the Why Don't You columns, but pulling off a Diana Vreeland is no easy feat. The author's ideas came off as frivolous, flip, and silly rather than imaginative and daring. Don't waste your hard earned cash on this one!
