I have owned this chair for over 2 years now & I camp about 20 times per year. This chair is holding up just fine. Keeping people outta MY chair is a chore around the campfire, cuz it is pretty comfy - with the headrest pillow! The built in backpack is handy for storage of maps, air beds, blankets, books or hiking boots. I cannot wait to buy the newer version with thicker metal tubing. I would highly recommend this one - from Total Escape's founder DanaMite.

At first, when I took it out of the packaging I thought, "This chair looks to low to the ground. It definitely isn't 10+ inches." Well, even though I am still not sure if it is 10 inches high, I have to say it is one of the most comfortable chairs I've ever sat in.

I went hiking with it and found a beautiful prairie in the middle of some trees. I had used the chair to carry my food, books, MP3 player & headphones, and drink bottle. I opened the chair without much difficulty and was soon engrossed in a book. I actually fell asleep without meaning to, the chair was so comfortable. The height didn't affect my comfort level at all.

The "knapsack" made a little too much noise while I was hiking (like clanking), but I bet I could have made it quieter by using cloth strategically. It was comfortable on my back, too. The space it created was big enough to carry a great many things. All in all, it is a wonderful hiking companion.

After years of going to the beach with an awkward armload of chair, towel, cooler, sunblock, book, walkman/mp3 player, etc., I have found nirvanna. It is called This Chair. It holds all of the above easily in its ample storage pouch, and is comfortable to hump out to the beach. The seat is comfortable and adjustable, and the pillow can be velcroed to the desired position, or thrown over the back if unwanted. The construction is sturdy but lightweight, and it folds into a neat an compact package that stores easily out of the way. I got compliments and inquiries on it the first time I used it, and think they need a franchise for these here in South Beach.

This chair is perfect for all your outdoor sporting events. VERY comfortable-cup holder -backpack-EVERYTHING you need in a chair. I love my chair!

I read the other reviews, and would like to make share my perspective.

Here's my take:
- Chair is as comfortable as any other fold-up chair. If not more comfortable. I took this to the park, and quickly fell asleep while lounging on this chair. Great comfort.
- Chair is light and easy to carry. You can't go on a 4-hour hike with this on your back,...but it's perfect for the 100 foot to 1/2 mile walk from your call to a park, concert or an event.

Definitely recommend the chair.

The WC04 is the heavier constructed highback chair with head cushion. I bought my first two chairs three years ago for a couple of all day blues and jazz festivals. They were comfortable all day long. It was almost like sitting on a couch with foot stool in my living room. I put a heavy padded moving blanket in the back pouch and back packed into the venue - easy, easy, easy. I still have and use these chairs, but bought two more for our condo by the beach. This is a thumbs-up chair all around. Sturdy, comfortable, convenient with the can holder and back pouch and worth every penny. This chair is meant to be enjoyed. DLT

We bought this chair last year and waited to review to see how they held up. Our beach chairs don't get constant use, but we spend at least one week and make several day trips to the beach each year.

After years of trudging to the beach laden with an umbrella, beach bag, sodas and chairs, we've found this a great way to distribute the load a bit (and free up a hand). We had constant issues with folding up our former Telescope brand beach chairs, but so far have had no problems with these chairs.

They are lightweight and comfortable, although they don't tilt up as far as I'd like at times. The cupholder is nice to keep your drink off the hot sand, and the neck roll gives you a little support, when desired. When folded, the construction of the chair also lends itself to easily carrying in one hand if you don't want to use the backpack option. They initially seemed a little flimsy and I was dubious as to whether they'd hold up. But after using them over two summers, I've finally thrown away the old ones I'd held on to just in case.

The best way I can put it is that I place a high importance on the quality, durability and comfort of a beach chair (after all, it allows you to stay on the beach on your vacation, which is/should be pure bliss) and I'd buy these again.

My quest for the perfect beach chair is over. It is stable, comfy, easy to carry, aluminum, and has a large stash bag.

My husband and I rent a house in Duck, North Carolina. The people who own the home leave the beach chairs for our use. They are the WearEver beach chairs. After using them one summer we had to purchase them for ourselves. They are comfortable and easy to carry... A must buy!!!
