5.0 out of 5 stars Great Products, Good Company
I received this set as a gift three years ago, and I really love the set. At the time, I was not much of a cook and just out of college, but I am now married and we cook all the time with these pans. They are super sturdy and feel hefty without too much weight. I appreciate the "strain" feature and use it regularly.
The company also stands behind its products...

These are sturdy, but know that the handles get really hot! Burns will happen. All-Clad and Calphalon's handles stay cool for much longer, always use potholders when cooking with Wearever. Aside from that they are pretty good, a bit on the heavy side. Lids could fit tighter for making rice, etc.

The company also stands behind its products and responds to customers via email. I was missing one of the lids to the pans after a move. I contacted them about it, and they helped me to replace the piece. It was great service on their part, and although I know these pans are going to last me for years and years, I will probably buy WearEver again.

5.0 out of 5 stars WearEver Cook & Strain Cookware 8-Piece Set, February 22, 2007

I recently upgraded my range from a gas model to an electric smooth surface cooktop (which I LOVE). I soon realized that a lot of my old (cheaper) cookware which had worked just fine on my old stove didn't work as well on my new one. Because of the nature of the design of this type of cooktop, the heat "transfers" to the cookware instead of the "direct" heat of conventional cooking. Bottom line is that your cookware needs to sit flat in order to perform well. Mine didn't. I bought this set because I wanted 4 things: 1)heavy-duty cookware to work with my new cooktop, 2)a non-stick finish in the fry pan only (but stainless steel in the pots); 3)a strainer built into the lids and 4)see-through clear lids. This is the only cookware I've found that met ALL of my criteria. I can tell a big difference between the new cookware and the old.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wearever Cook & Strain Pans, October 14, 2006
This review is from: Wearever Cook & Strain Stainless Steel 10-Piece Cookware Set (Kitchen)
I bought this set over a year ago and am very happy with it. The set looks like it did when I bought it--and that with very little care! I have had a few occasions where I burned food on a pan and if you soak it, it cleans up very easily with steel wool. Many people have commented that they really like how they look. The double spouts on the pans make for very easy pouring, and I really love the strain feature in the cover. They also heat very evenly.

4.0 out of 5 stars 4 of 5 stars..., April 5, 2009
This review is from: Wearever Cook & Strain Stainless Steel 10-Piece Cookware Set (Kitchen)
I have owned this set for several years now. These pans are quite sturdy and they do cook evenly, a nice set of pans for the price, for sure. There are a couple of draw-backs though...the lids do not fit tightly; the handles become hot and potholders are necessary for both the pans and the lids; the larger pans are heavy and can be difficult (I broke my wrist and it took a lot of work to be able to lift the pans and sometimes I still do better with the other hand with them). I also have an issue with the non-stick surface coming off of the rivets inside the skillet. When I contacted the manufacturer, they expected me to MAIL them the pan just so they could determine if what I had told them was true (the pan was about a year old and NOT abused)...are you kidding me?? I still use the skillet but after about 5 years now the surface is beginning to wear somewhat and occasionally things aren't quite non-stick. Otherwise, these are nice pans. They still look pretty good after 5 years. They clean fairly easily and if they start to look a little worse for the wear, a steel wool pad or the powdered stainless steel cleaner works wonders.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love love love this line of cookware, January 19, 2009
This review is from: Wearever Cook & Strain Stainless Steel 10-Piece Cookware Set (Kitchen)
I tried the Wearever Cook and Strain 3-quart saucepan first, then added the 1-1/2-quart and the 10-inch fry pan. Loved them so much I bought this set. These are the best pans I've ever owned.

Pros:
-Glass lids to see what's cooking
-Pour spouts (I use that feature for pasta)
-Perfectly flat bottoms essential for ceramic cooktops
-No enameling (paint) to come off on ceramic cooktops
-Constructed of 18/10 stainless steel
-Comfortable (stay cool) handles
-Weighty but not too heavy
-Still look brand new after repeated use
-Lifetime warranty

Cons:
-Lid knob gets hot if lid is left on while cooking (I have to use a potholder to lift it; not a problem for me)
-Lids don't fit tight into pans (again, not a problem for me)
-Handwashing (doesn't bother me)

If you've never cooked with stainless, remember that because of the quick and even heat distribution you should cook at a lower temperature than you're probably used to.

I've had a few spots show up on the outside of the bottoms from cooking at too high a temperature when the ceramic cooktop was not perfectly clean, and I used Mr. Clean Magic Eraser to get rid of them. The spots came right off. If I ever need to shine the bottoms (haven't had to yet), I'll use Barkeeper's Friend on them.

I've also purchased a 12-inch saute, a 10-inch saute, and a griddle in this line. Can't recomment them highly enough. Great buy for the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great set!, May 7, 2010
This review is from: Wearever Cook & Strain Stainless Steel 10-Piece Cookware Set (Kitchen)
I have a set like this. I especially like it for cooking spaghetti ( I use the saute pan) because it lets me drain the spaghetti without letting it cool off and without any noodles escaping. Then I add butter, garlic salt and dry Parmesan for great pasta.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent but handles get hot, April 29, 2010
This review is from: Wearever Cook & Strain Stainless Steel 10-Piece Cookware Set (Kitchen)
We have had these for about five years now. We loved them until we changed from an electric range to a gas range. On an electric range, the handles stay cool; on a gas range, the hollow handles act as chimneys to conduct the hot air, making them really hot very quickly. The other features of the pots are great, we like the lids with built-in strainers, the glass top works very nicely and we have never had trouble with breaking or cracking. The pour spouts are very convenient and help prevent spills---because of them, we no longer use our older clad pans that lack the pour spouts. Overall, they are great but because of the handle heating on our gas stove, we are now looking to replace them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great heavy duty set!, December 28, 2008
This review is from: Wearever Cook & Strain Stainless Steel 10-Piece Cookware Set (Kitchen)
I LOVE this set. I got this for Christmas and I was really impressed. The pans are nice and heavy and cook VERY evenly. I am very very happy with this set, and am looking to buy a few extra peices. I love the pour spout feature. It's really great when making pasta. The stainless is beautiful. I am very impressed at the quality for the price.

You have got to love "Lifetime Warranty" on any product. These pans are glorious. Not only is the product backed by that lifetime warranty it may never need it. To me a company that is willing to stand behind their product to such a degree has pride and confidence in the product. I like that. That gives me confidence in my purchase.

The pans themselves are beauties and with a little consideration they will "last a lifetime". If the handle gets hot, use one of those neat little handle pot holders. The pan is meant to conduct even heat, that means heat everywhere, evenly. Use a potholder. :)
