Product Description

Editorial Review

Anyone with a bit of curiosity and one of these kits can study the weather and make intelligent predictions. The 6-in-1 Weather Center is a small device, 6 inches tall by 7 inches long, which you mount on a post or fence rail. It doesn't look like much, but it includes a rain gauge, a total rain indicator, a thermometer, a compass rose base (for determining wind direction), a wind velocity indicator, and a wind-chill chart. The detailed instruction booklet not only gives a good explanation of the weather predicting system used by professionals, but also explains how to use the weather center to track weather patterns and make predictions based upon your observations. Also includes a pictorial cloud chart, with names and meteorological significance. For added fun, a hurricane-tracking map and instructions for storm plotting are also included. A lot of learning in a small package. --Richard Farr

5.0 out of 5 stars Weather Fantatic, December 29, 2000

This review is from: Weather Center (Office Product)
Hi, I am a weather fanatic and I found this toy great for many reasons. It is fun on those cold windy days that way you can tell the wind speed without having to tune to the Weather Channel with readings an hour old. It also shows percipitation, temperature, and wind direction. To measure wind direction and speed it swivels around on a poleto catch the wind. It is educational because you can chart the data and make your own version of the Farmer's Alamanac. This is not included but I think its a great idea. It can also teach you to make your own predictions. This toy is fairly durable but could be broken by a rock, or fracturing by ice. It will last for it is made out of plastic nad is screwed down. It is screwed onto my deck and I have had no problems yet. I go out every 10 minutes to check the changes and see if its cold enough to snow. I just love this and I think you will too. I hope I was of help!
