The Skymaster has a handy, pocketknife-style case makes for easy portability, while also improving accuracy by placing the user's hands further from the wind impeller and temperature sensor. The unit is water-resistant, and its bright yellow case makes for easy retrieval if it ever goes in the drink.

Accuracy is the most crucial component of any weather meter, and the SM-28 is accurate to 3% with wind speeds. It can measure wind from 0.5 to 99 MPH, and captures current, average, and maximum wind speed over five-, ten-, or 13-second intervals, and additionally measures temperature and wind-chill in both Fahrenheit and Celsius. A Honeywell humidity sensor and Swiss-made barometer can be easily re-calibrated, and the unit has a weather alert if barometric pressure rises or falls six millibars over a three hour period�a handy touch when you're at the mercy of Mother Nature.

The WeatherHawk SM-28 SkyMaster Hand-Held Weather Meter is a great asset to any nature or birdwatcher, or any outdoors enthusiastWeatherHawk SM-28 SkyMaster Hand-Held Weather Meter, Yellow who enjoys knowing what the actual weather is doing outdoors. To know the temperature, relative humidity, barometric pressure, wind speed, dew point, heat index and wind chill are very important. The barometer, dew point and humidity can indicate bad weather and give outdoors folks advanced warning when needed.

One elemental indicator that is lacking in this WeatherHawk SM-28 Skymaster hand-held weather meter is the ability to know the wind direction. Yes, one could easily take some dirt and sift it thru the hand to see the wind direction but not everyone is around dirt or grass. The wind direction feature would be an added bonus to an already great hand-held weather instrument.

Also, WeatherHawk already calibrated the voltage settings for my hand-held weather instrument. That was also a help to me. Thank you again WeatherHawk.
