He sets out claerly and concisely the events and the financial solutions in the 4-year struggle to establish a secure future. This is not a general history of the modern period of the port of Liverpool, dealing only with the financial crisis, but it does offer wider insights and provides a glimpse towards a future success that was unimaginable in 1970.
