I would recommend these over more expensive tools out there.

Magnets are not strong, because they are composed of 4 small magnets.

Seriously, the kit contains two small bubble levels with magnets that can mount on the bottom or side of each level. If you have trouble finding a usable metal surface that's flat and either vertical or horizontal, the kit comes with a bunch of adhesive squares you can use.

1. Get the gun level.
2. Get the scope level.
3. Tighten.

It took me 5 minutes to level my first scope. How could they possibly make it any easier? Obviously there will be special applications that may require a little ingenuity but I think 99% of the time this kit will work fine as it is. Well worth the money.

This thing just works great all around. Weaver put out a real good one with this little package which is easy to use accurately. If you spend time mounting scopes buy this. You can slide the magnets around to keep the level from falling off of an alloy Picatinny rail where a magnet will not hold and stick the other one on the scope and you are tight. I've mounted scopes on guns that were shot at 1,000 yards that S.W.A.T Teams used and this level system works.

this only works if surface of your firearm or sight is flat AND level with your reticle or firearm. It most likely is not. Magnets are not strong, because they are composed of 4 small magnets. If there is not a large metallic surface area, especially if your surface is nickel plated, don't expect it to stick well. Just use a good vice with a drop line. Make sure your reticle lines up with this drop line while rotating your elevation turret all the way up and down.

The Weaver Gunsmith Modular Level System ( I got mine from Amazon.com ) is a NECESSARY purchase if you are going to MAKE SURE your 'scope's cross hairs are aligned correctly, AND to the rifle's bore!

Easy to use, first affix one of the levels to the receiver using the supplied magnetic and/or adhesive holders and level the firearm - with the bubble centered in the level. Next, loosen the top rings on the 'scope a bit to allow adjustment and then place the other level on the top scope cap, IF FLAT, or if not, remove the cap and then install as for the receiver. Place the bubble on this level in the center like you did on the receiver as well, now making sure they are both level.

If your eye relief on the 'scope is where you need it, you can now lock everything down, use a borescope to make sure the 'scope is looking where you want to place the bullet and 'get thee to the range'!

Remove the guess work and KNOW that you are properly mounting your scope. Enough said, my home kit isnt complete without an item like this.

they are working ok or me and other than one of them falling out of carrier and haveing to be recalibrated to level by/with a larger precise machine level to get true level this is just fine. expect to have one of the pop out of scocket when it is dropped and you will drop it from time to time so have some plastic glue handy.
